rolling in the deep - - - - - -
likes: laughter, friends, food, summer, an adventure, jokes, lazy days, his family, a good argument, ice cream, reading on his own time, breaking the rules, sleeping in, suntans, girls, having a genuine good time
dislikes: the dark arts, slytherins, working out, dishonesty, exams and studying, cold weather, overcast days, losing, healthy food, being cooped up inside, chores, responsibility, being serious, fake people
strengths: declan is incredibly loyal. it's one of the more critical points he is known for. once you have earned his trust and allegiance, he is going to be on your side for life. he would do anything for someone he loved and trusted. he is simply the type of person who will go against all odds to protect what he believes in or loves. declan is also intelligent. he was simply born with a brilliant mind. this definitely helps him in terms of his skill level with magic. he's always done incredibly well at hogwarts without even extending much effort. his intelligence makes him witty and quick on his feet. there isn't much that can outsmart him. lastly, declan is determined. he's always been one for adventure and excitement. he's never declined a challenge, and he probably never will, no matter the risks. he won't stop until he gets what he feels he deserves or wants. he's a force to be reckoned with once you have managed to get yourself on his bad side, which is relatively hard to do.
weaknesses: declan is very stubborn in his ideas and opinions. if he believes he is right, then he is right. he'll fight you for hours over something that isn't even remotely significant, just because he wants to prove himself right. this leads to him being quite unhappy if and when he is proven to be wrong. once he believes in something, he will not budge until he is given concrete proof that he is wrong. declan is never serious. he's the epitome of a practical joker. he loves to simply have fun with everything. he hates when he is forced to do anything in a serious manner. unless of course it attacks his core beliefs and values. on the everyday basis, declan is always seen with a smile and a laugh. he hates anything serious, and therefore, doesn't want to grow up. he's often seen as immature. declan simply doesn't take most things in his life seriously, and that offends others. lastly, declan has major commitment issues. not just in relationships, but in general. he doesn't commit to anything for more than a few days at a time. he doesn't want any responsibilities. he wants to live a carefree, exciting life. however, reality is beginning to set in, and he tends to panic. he doesn't want to choose a career, and he doesn't want to settle into a boring lifestyle. for declan, it's all about the fun and adventure in everything. nothing serious, boring, or responsible.
veritaserum: declan is terrified that he is growing up and becoming an adult. also, he doesn't really believe in that magical thing called love.
dementor: declan's worst memory occured when he was eight years old. he was playing in his grandparent's house when he got himself locked in a closet. somehow, he couldn't manage to get out of it on his own. the house was massive, and he pounded on the door for about an hour before someone finally found him missing. to this day, he's incredibly claustrophobic and hates all tight, confined spaces.
patronus: declan's best memory is from a time when his little sister was first born and before everyone found out that his father had been cheating on his mother. they were a big happy family, and they had gone out to a picnic in the park. they ate and played happily, enjoying the summer day. declan's patronus takes on the form of a lynx.
sexuality & relationship status: heterosexual -- single

overall history:declan was born on a clear autumn day. he was the first child born to a very happy euan and eliza abercrombie. they adored their firstborn child. he was spoiled from the start, given everything he could have asked for. soon, eliza was pregnant with their second child. declan was only a little over a year old whenever his baby sister was born. of course he didn’t understand being a big brother just yet, but he quickly adapted and fit the role perfectly. they appeared the perfect, happy family. everyone assumed they were incredibly happy. they were a complete family.
however, when declan was six, devastating news reached eliza. euan had been carrying on an affair for years now with another woman. in fact, she had a daughter nearly the same age as declan’s own full sister. eliza was devastated. euan tried to win his first wife back, but to no avail. she left him, taking declan with her. euan went off to marry the woman he had been having an affair with for years now. declan, however, was never the same. his father ruined the idea of love, happiness, and marriage to him. declan lived happily with his mother and sister.
his mother opened a used book store, something she had always wanted to do. and they grew to be happy. declan grew into a wonderful young man. however, he still isn’t in contact with his father. he feels he is a pathetic excuse for a man. also, he despises his father’s other daughter. he wants nothing to do with her, and it only fuels his hatred of slytherins. there is definite tension between the two families, and declan wants nothing to do with his father or his father’s new family. declan is a seventh year gryffindor, and he’s been feeling anxious knowing his years at hogwarts are almost over, and it’s time to get serious about his future.

role play sample:“Oh, bloody hell Ginny, can’t you find your own thing to do for five minutes.” Shaking her head in a stubborn way, Ginny answered, her words spiked with rage and determination. “As a matter of fact I can.” She paused, dark chocolate eyes filled with emotion as she continued the exchange between herself and her loving and darling brother, Ron. “Ron, you just don’t want me to play because then everyone gets to see how much better I am than you.” She paused again, letting her venomous words sink in. “Go on and embarrass yourself. You know you can’t play quidditch any better than a baby can.” She didn’t even give him a moment to react to her words. Instead, she spun on her heel, heading off towards the woods that surrounded the Weasleys’ pleasant home.
After going a few yards, she continued to let her anger out, murmuring words underneath her breath. “I didn’t really want to play anyway. Fred and George always put me on Ron’s team and he only gets crabby afterwards because he knows I’m much better than he is.” Her steps were filled with tension as she stalked across the open field and into the woods where she was no longer seen by her three brothers. Who needs them? To be honest, Ginny had gotten quite used to the constant left out feeling her brother’s pushed on her. Glad that she could no longer hear the shouts coming from her older brother’s across the yard, she wandered through the woods, the sights all familiar and welcoming. Finding a small open clearing, Ginny sank down, finding herself sprawled out across the grass. The sun was streaming down onto her, igniting the redness in her hair.
She took a deep breath, finding pure relaxation. The events that had played out moments before were ones that consistently happened at the Burrow. Just because she was a girl. She had always been too small, too girly. But, she knew that wasn’t true. She was a lot more fiery than her brothers, at times. She knew she had a rather, well, vivacious personality. And every single time her brothers attempted to put her down and not let her join in their fun and games, she always bounced back with passion. She didn’t let them get the better of her. Even now, as she lay beneath the sun, she could almost feel a frustrated smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She loved her brothers dearly. She just wished they understood that she wasn’t like the girls at school. Ginny was brave and strong. She was independent and clearly didn’t need anyone’s help when it came to protection or defending herself.
Sitting up onto her elbows, she let her eyes glaze along the scenery. Nothing she hadn’t seen before. However, it took on a mystic view. It truly was beautiful, to be able to sit and not worry. She knew the times like these were short and few. Presently, everyone was worrying about everything. She worried, of course. However, she did her best to find confidence in herself and everyone around her. They would be okay. Harry would be fine. He would save them all. And she would be there to help him.
Just thinking the thought made her laugh out loud. Her mother would never in a million years allow her to help alongside the others when it came time to fight Voldemort. They would corner her up somewhere safe. She would struggle and throw a complete and utter tantrum. As always, she would find a way out. There was no way she was going to be sitting around while the others got to indulge in active battles. She was a magnificent witch. She knew she had a lot more to display than many people thought she had. Giggling softly to herself, the only thoughts going through her mind were ones of confidence. Never underestimate Ginny Weasley.
