don't push your luck
(DON'T GET MORE THEN YOUR HOPES UP)

Practice had ended a while back, but as day turned to dusk, Lux was still zooming around the pitch.Hogwarts would be coming to a close and she would know longer be on the pitch. After she graduated she would no longer take to a broom again and it would be a feeling that she would surely miss. With the weather semi-decent, as it wasn't as hot as summer could be, she figured that staying out a bit later and skipping dinner would be alright. Besides with a game coming up against their rival team, Lux figured she might as well practice a little more just to give her a little more of a lead against the rest of the chasers. After all, as captain, she had to produce a winning team, and that wasn't something she could do if she wasn't at her best. Practice was said to make you perfect and Lux could only hope that as she continued to practice she would perfect her game and make a name for herself. After all, that's all anyone ever wanted. To be their own person and have pride to go with their name, especially if they could do it by the time they left Hogwarts.
So she zoomed around the pitch, her body leaning close to her broom, she smiled. The feeling, the rush, she got was amazing. As the quaffle plummeted to the ground after she threw it through the hoop, she slowed down to go after it. She let her feet graze the ground as she came to a stop. She unhooked the button from her Slytherin robe, and let it billow the rest of the way to the ground. the air prickled her bare arms as she slew in just her practice shorts and Slytherin crested shirt. She knew she should have had her quidditch pads on but with just the quaffle and her she figured she wouldn't need them. Besides, she was fairly decent when it came to strength and when it came to playing by the rules they weren't something she tended to follow through with.
So as she kicked herself back in the air, the feeling was different. She felt freedom. It wasn't something she got to feel often. With her father's watchful eyes, and her constant need to win, the idea of just doing something for herself, and only herself, was glorifying. A wicked smile expanded over her lips as she continued her decent into the sky. The higher she got the better she felt. The better she felt the more adrenalin she had. As she made it up into the sky, above the stands, she turned her body down and let her broom drop down and straight toward the ground. She pulled up last minute, wrapping her fingers around the lovely red ball and scooping it off the ground. With the ball tucked under her arm she soared back up into the sky toward the hoops on the other end of the pitch. It was a great deal of yards to cover, but that's what Lux liked best. She liked knowing that at the end of the pitch there was something waiting for her, allowing her to feel victory and accomplishment, and as she made it to the pitch, she tossed the ball with all her might into the middle hoop, and watched as it soared once again through the gold hoop and then back toward the ground. She started back toward the ground to get hold of the ball once more.
