[/justify]Declan had basically floated through the day. He had been present in his classes, but he hadn't really been there. Not in mind, at least. As the weather proceeded to get nicer, Declan found it harder and harder to concentrate in his classes. Thankfully, Declan was naturally incredibly intelligent. Schoolwork, exams, and essay came naturally to him. Going to class just seemed like such a chore, especially lately. Therefore, he'd spent the day daydreaming during his classes and joking around with his buddies in between, filling those tiny spaces between classes with laughter. Staring out the window of his last class of the day, he found himself feeling anxious. He needed to get out of there. Standing up, he excused himself quietly, the professor just shaking his head.
It would be a different story if Declan performed poorly in his classes. However, he was flawless. He got outstanding marks in all of his classes. And he hardly did anything. It was his talent, his skill. He supposed it was a good quality. Turning and giving a mischievous smirk to his classmates, particularly those that he was close with, he opened the door to the classroom and snuck out into the emptied corridor, feeling free. Who cared if he missed the last few minutes of class? He didn’t need to know anything more about the history of magic. Where the hell was that going to get him, in the long run? That’s right—nowhere.
Moving along the corridors, he wasn’t sure where he was going, but he was going. He let his feet guide him. Declan was good at this, just letting his feet take him where they wanted to go. He walked absentmindedly, without a care in the world. But, that’s mostly how he lived his life, without cares or worries. Declan didn’t get stuck on the worries that haunted everyone else. Yes, every once and awhile he panicked over his future, but other than that, he lived a life free of responsibility and cares. Going down a few staircases, he found himself on the third floor. Blue green eyes flickered across the corridors, enjoying the fact that they were empty. They looked so different when students weren’t filtering through them.
Turning a corner, he saw a girl up ahead, sitting in front of the statue of the Humped Witch. She was bent over something, her hand moving in rhythm. Instinct told him that she was sketching, most likely the statue. He didn’t want to startle her, but, being Declan, he had to approach her. He was one of the friendliest kids in the school. He loved to talk to just about everyone, besides people that he dislikes, which are usually only Slytherins. Making his way towards her, he walked a bit heavily, trying to catch her attention in a nonchalant way. He knew how awful it was to be snuck up on and surprised, and since she was drawing, he didn’t want to ruin her sketch.
Standing to her side, he glanced down at her sketch, impressed with her work. Nodding, he smiled cheekily, arms crossed lazily over his chest. ”That’s impressive. You’re good.” Smirking, he looked at her closely. He’d seen her before, but she definitely wasn’t a Gryffindor, or his year, because he would have known her. He waited for a response from her before speaking again, unsure of how he was going to be greeted, since he did somewhat interrupt her thoughts and work.
