As per usual, and fairly typical of a young ravenclaw Elise could be found in the large busy library on the fourth floor in the Castle of Hogwarts. Head deep in a book - sat right on the left side of the large space right by the window where a fair few old desks (that no doubt needed replacing in Elises' eyes from years of neglect and people etching in their names, dates, and lovers.) It was almost perfect. Left alone to be swept away by page after page. It was her most faverioute book she found herself within today - her mission had at first been to make her way through all the books in the library but there were so many she'd given up the challenge in her fourth year. Now in her final year she simply wanted to re-read what one had her excited to read the following page. Dragons. A hobby she had was reading up on dragons. It was just so interesting and indepth on where they could be found - why they were difficult to find - the point of their extintment and how wizards in this day and age fought to keep them tamed and alive. Keeping the ministry from disposing of such lethal magical creatures (because apparently their secret feast on muggles was simply called neglect, when it was simply their inbuilt nature).
Of course there was always some hidden meaning behind what the young ravenclaw did. Keeping herself preoccupied stopped her from dwelling on thoughts that got her down. You see from the outside - the pureblood veela stood tall, proud, happy and confident - but on the inside she felt like teenage drama was collapsing- gossip was heading her way, and family was about to get their forks out to start tearing her apart peace by peace. The dreaded topic had finally arisen in the owl (that sat on the very desk just above the book she'd buried her nose in). A topic most pureblood children fought so hard and in some cases threw tantrums and landed themselves being disowned for not following tradition. Marriage. Although it was a daunting thought for the seventeen year old her parents had given her the remaining year of her youth to dig out a lover before they dug one out for her. She knew she should have been grateful as most in her position would have no choice in a partner. They either took it - or they ended up on the streets with no secure background - or anything really.
Of course Elise Dubois knew her family only wanted the best for her and although they had abandoned their parents because of their secret love story they wanted her to do the right thing. Find a partner, settle down and begin a family. However Elise wanted more than that. She wanted to get a well paid job, raise to the top of her career before even thinking about family, money and husbands. She was ambitious and book smart. Quick whitted and had her eyes set on a big goal. However family meant quite more to her and she knew she'd end up arguing over this if she didn't figuire out a way of talking her parents back out of their plans. Although the Dubois weren't as well off as many pureblood families they still had a high reputation and still clung onto the whole 'women are home makers - not workers' idea. So for Elise to get a job - well it would be shattering thousands of generations tradition. It was a tricky situation she had found herself in. She sighed glancing at the last scentence her eyes had been staring at for the last five miniutes before closing the book and rubbing her eyes. She wasn't tired, simply emotionally exhausted.

hey, the rails are caught now, and i am falling down. a fools in the spiral round this town of steam. my body tells me no, but i won't quit, cause i want more. Now, Scorpius had nothing against libraries. Having an appreciation for libraries and having time for libraries were two separate things. Unlike the summer where his own library was at his disposal twenty-four hours a day, there was something alluring -- and at times forbidden -- about Hogwart's library. Scorpius has been titillated by the beckoning of the Forbidden section since the first night he slept in the Slytherin dorm. And of course, there was no better place for a moment of quiet and thoughtfulness. Scorpius knew this firsthand (he also knew it was the perfect outpost for scoping out the most bookish ladies of Hogwarts), but sadly today's pursuit of the library was not to expand his mind or unwind in the calm sanctuary. But there was no reason to pity Scorpius, oh no, today he got to mix business and pleasure.
Scorpius was a prefect, so he was given the occasional allowance from class or activities. Recently, the Head of Ravenclaw house wished to speak with him on behalf of the students who have recently tried to check out books that were hexed with false information and cumbersome enchantments. The Head of House knew the perpetrators vandalized during the dinner and evening hours, but she hasn’t been able to put a finger on them. So, who else would be capable of tracking a hoodlum than a man from the Slytherin house? It was true, Slytherins were particularly resourceful and had 'connections' to those who do bad deeds (and it is the Slytherins who are criticized for being prejudice). So, Scorpius was sent on a mission for Hogwarts, sure that meant a couple late nights until the culprits are found, but he got to miss class when compulsory and he got to stay out late for the next few nights. Scorpius was mulling over potential assignments he’d have to cram in the early hours as he left the Ravenclaw Head's meeting spot in the Astronomy Tower. He trotted down the winding stairs at a relaxed pace, keeping a hand on his satchel so it wouldn’t bump and bounce next to him.
Sweeping a hand through his hair, Scorpius made it to the changing stairs. He waited patiently as the stairs took their good time to maneuver his way. He went down the next set of stairs, waited, and then leapt off the moving staircase on to the fourth floor landing. Navigating to the library was no tedious trick and within a few moments Scorpius was at the threshold of the library. The books that had been hexed are, of course, no longer on the shelves. Still, Scorpius had a feeling that the perpetrators did not yet know that their profane and inaccurate books have already been found, he, she, or they might be foolish enough to come back for another round of hexing. For now Scorpius was just investigating, mostly just waiting for someone to be silly enough to head over to the crime spots to get a glimpse of their own work or try to show it to their friends for a laugh.
Scorpius entered the library and immediately headed towards a cluster of tables where a familiar blond Ravenclaw sat. Business and pleasure has successfully mixed for Scorpius. His task at catching the book-modifiers was surely still on his to-do list, but Scorpius has found that multitasking was the road to sanity. He would never sleep again if he didn't accomplish multiple goals at once. Unsure whether Elise had even seen him yet (she might as well hold her nose for how deep she plunges into books), Scorpius meandered around the tables, coming back around so that he was beside and slightly behind Elise. Now typically he'd make his presence known by covering her eyes, flipping her hair, or finding some method of being boyishly obnoxious. Today, however, since Scorpius was already in investigator mode, his eye caught sight of an intriguing prop to Elise's setting at the library. "What's this?" Scorpius asked as her owl fluttered from its still position on the desk before her into his left hand, his wand resting between his fingers. "Letter from a secret admirer?" Scorpius drawled with a sly smirk. One can only speculate if his outlandish assumption would be enough to pry a Ravenclaw from an excellent read.

hey, the rails are caught now, and i am falling down. a fools in the spiral round this town of steam. my body tells me no, but i won't quit, cause i want more. The letter looked far too formal to be anything the boys at this school could concoct. Besides, Elise has always been quite the rational Ravenclaw, so he severely doubted it was a letter about poor school grades or disciplinary action. Scorpius pulled out and sat down in the chair next to Elise while glancing at the other items placed around her. Oh how typical Ravenclaw, not that he could complain, the sight of girls and books has always been well-received by Scorpius, Elise just-so-happened to be awarded with brains and beauty. Her veela blood, too, is a quality that was hard to ignore, especially for the male species within the castle walls. Scorpius was only so lucky that he has known Elise long enough to gain some sort of resistance to veela charms. Of course, his abilities have been severely weakened by lovely teenage hormones and testosterone, nevertheless, he's far better trained than most when it comes down to restraint to any woman's charms, let alone the potent affects of Elise Dubois's lucrative genes.
"My mother?" Scorpius repeated ironically. Astoria Greengrass was not above digging for dirt, not in the slightest. In fact, Scorpius probably has his mother to thank for his strong affection for collecting and keeping secrets. Scorpius smirked, as he knew that Elise was very much aware of how pureblood women behaved. There were the exceptions or the standouts amongst those brought up with pureblood ideals, but anyone with a brain could see the repetitive pattern seen in their pureblood peers. However, Elise then said something Scorpius did not expect. Something he'd probably also receive? "Well, now I am curious," Scorpius said, running his fingers over the edges of the letter. But, rather than ripping open the letter Elise did not seem too offended in him reading, Scorpius instead let his school satchel slide down from his shoulder to set it on the ground by his chair. Scorpius then opened up the letter with careful consideration as if to not flaw any crease or dent any corner.
Scorpius didn't need to read the entire letter. In fact, he only needed a couple keywords to understand exactly what Elise meant. Marriage. Oh, the word looked so ... permanent on paper. The very word had a ripple effect among pureblood parents. Once a couple matches were decided, all the sudden mothers all over Britain and beyond were scouting for perfect matches for their offspring. His own mum, he was certain, had spent years scrutinizing his female peers, judging harshly on who would be his betrothed. Thankfully dear ol' mum hasn't come to a decision yet. But letters like these always incited at least a small amount of worry in Scorpius; it only takes one ripple to create a thousand. The thoughts circulating through his head momentarily appeared on Scorpius's typically stoic visage; his eyes lit up like sparks as dreaded words like 'betrothed' and 'marriage' appeared in the letter. His mouth twisted into a shape that seemed like a cross between a smirk and grimace. Scorpius didn't need to read it thoroughly, Elise was quite right that Scorpius would receive one of his very own letters on the very same topic. Being seventeen, that time could be any day now.
"Any news on who the lucky man will be?" Despite how telling his facial reactions were upon first seeing the dreaded words, his voice did not waver from its typical, confident unwavering pace and tone. He looked to Elise looking for some cue on how she felt about the letter from her family. Of course, he wouldn't press the subject if it would offend her temperament (you always had to be careful of veelas). "Or will all worthy pureblood men just have to line up and see who gets chosen?"
