ROLEPLAYING EXAMPLE:
The wetness fell on her head, as she turned her face up she couldn't help but wonder why it always had to rain right after she got her hair cut. Now she would have to suffer the entire train ride with slowly frizzing hair. She could almost hear her mother reprimanding her for not putting her hair potions in a more accessible place in her trunk. As it were, they were buried far too deep for Cori Avery to even consider digging for something to keep her dark, wavy hair tamed.
Instead she thanked her Avery ancestors for the foresight in wearing an elastic band for a bracelet. With her shoulder length hair pulled back into an acceptable ponytail her mother’s disapproving face disappeared for the time being. “Wouldn’t want to disappoint Mummy,” she rolled her eyes as she continued her now quickened journey into Kings Cross. As the oldest child to the wealthy Avery family the pressure for perfection felt immense.
Something as trivial as her lovely Coraline being caught with frizzy hair would surely send her mother into hysterics. The thought made her cringe. Very little pleased her mother it seemed. The prefect badge that adorned her robes certainly did not bring nearly the amount of joy to her mother as before. There of course should be a Head Girl badge instead, it being Cori’s seventh year.
With all of the mummy-roasting going on in her head, she nearly passed platform nine. Once through she caught a flash of red in the form of a Gryffindor girl. The Head Girl badge blinked on her robes as her parents said their goodbyes. Cori again thanked her ancestors, this time for her mother’s absence. For all of her opinions, Elysa Avery stopped seeing Cori and her siblings off after third year.
She boarded the train and looked around for an empty compartment. Her dorm mates would be looking for her before long, but for now she needed some quiet to clear her abused brain. Thankfully, she found one without much effort. She closed the door and once her trunk was safely stored above she dropped to the seat and made a very unladylike groan. Her thin fingers loosened the pristine silver and green tie that suddenly felt like entirely too tight. . !
