The Potter family lived for a long time on Harry's income alone, which was enough to be considered 'wealthy'. Lily had had health problems when she was very young, and Ginny had stayed at home for years to take care of her. The Potters first lived in a little cottage in Godric's Hollow, which was Harry's home when he was a baby. Every time they pass the memorial. After the accident they finally we're split up with the weasleys, Lily spending most of her time with the Veela loving vain weasleys more commonly know as fluer, bill and dom and vic. But occassionally she stopped round with her brothers - when she was of course in the mood to put up with them. Lily has grown with a huge family around him, and they practically never stop talking about the value of family and loved ones. Lily knows that they're not supposed to have favorites, but his has always been his uncle Charlie, who she doesn't get to see very often, because he lives in Romania. Lily has a fascination with dragons.
At Hogwarts, first week in she crashed her broom, yeah typical lily was pretty much accident prone that shes almost always going into the hospital wing - or coming back out. She was surprisingly sorted into slytherin, and although she tries to remain detached from her brothers as school, she always looks up to them.

When she had picked up the phone just thirty minutes ago, she didn't know that she was going to be ending up in the forest while Michael died in front of her. She was confused why he was having these nightmares again. They only ever happened when he was having a sort of internal conflict with himself or something had been bothering him. In the back of her mind, she knew it was because she had been preoccupied lately. Her parents had started thinking of college and wanted her to look at colleges in her free time. She knew that he was feeling like she was avoiding him or ignoring him now that they were together. But she couldn't be happier with him. All she wanted was to spend time with him like they used to, but it all came at the wrong time.
Their senior year was nearly half over by the time they had finally gotten together and that seemed to be the busiest time. Colleges were looking for new applicants, scouts were coming to high schools to look for new players. They were both under stress, that was sure. She was at his house ten minutes after the call. It was pouring rain, so it took a little longer than usual. She noticed his truck was gone, but she assumed that his dad took it. The door was unlocked when she attempted to open the door. His mom was out for the day and his dad was with the truck, so she knew that they would be alone. "Michael?" she called as she walked up the stairs. She didn't hear any movement and hoped that he would be sleeping again. But he wasn't. His room was empty. She noticed his phone still on the bed, the red shoe box on the floor. "God damn it Michael..." she sighed, knowing that he had gone to the hospital.
She rushed out of the house, making sure to lock the door as always. She felt stupid for thinking that he would stay home. He said he was feeling incredibly sick and she knew that he was impatient when this happened. Especially with Vicodin in his system. It always made him a little reckless, made him think that he was now invincible. She was down the road and onto the hospital in minutes. The rain was pouring down harder than she could remember and her wipers couldn't go fast enough. She knew that he liked to take the road through the forest rather than the main streets. It always seemed to take less time, but it was about the same time. She was hoping that he had pulled over when he realized that he shouldn't be driving at all.
He had pulled over alright, but after she had pulled behind the truck and walked over to the driver's side of the truck, she couldn't breathe. The whole front of the truck was smashed in, the glass shattered, the engine steaming from the falling rain. And there was Michael, on the ground a few feet away. She rushed to his side the best she could through the mud. She pulled a sleeve over her hand and wiped his face. She couldn't tell if she was crying or not because of the falling rain, but her vision was blurred and her throat was tightening up. "No Michael don't...don't do this...you can't..." she tried to speak in whole sentences, but nothing was coming out. She wanted to say how much she loved him and that she didn't know what to do if he was gone. That she was sorry for being so standoffish in the past week, that she was sorry for not getting to his house sooner. She looked around and did notice the other person nearby. Hopefully they had called 911, because she couldn't think of doing it right now. She didn't want to confirm what was happening. That the love her life and her best friend in the world was dying in front of her. But she did anyways. "Hello? My boyfriend got in a car crash and I think he's....I don't...I don't know what to do...we're on the road that goes through Shores Forest...we're on the side of the road...oh Goddd...ok...bye" she hung up the phone and did as the dispatcher had suggested. She pushed on his chest repeatedly, and then blew air into his unresponsive lungs. She tasted rain, tears, and blood, but kept going anyways. She knew in the back of her mind that he was gone forever, but she couldn't stop hoping that it wasn't real. That this was just a nightmare and he wasn't dead in the mud in front of her.
But he was. Michael James Lansing was gone forever. Her only friend and the only person she ever truly loved besides her parents was gone for good. She heard the sirens coming around the road and placed a hand on his cold one and found a black box. She took it knowing that the paramedics would either lose it or take it. She felt hands tearing her away from Mike's body and she let herself be taken. Everything after that was a blur. She knew she was being questioned and looked after, but she didn't really know at the same time. All she could think about was the taste of Mike's blood on her lips and the box in her hand. She would never open it. It was the last little surprise that Mike had for her and she wanted it to last forever.
