DON’T STOP BELIEVING.Hello, the name’s Atticus Jackson Rookwood. Call him Atticus or AJ, please. He was born on 11 November. He has two younger siblings, who you should probably not harm. He's known to be sociable, practical, diplomatic and assertive. Atticus can be spiteful, distrustful, resentful and cynical. Oh, and he likes his privacy so don’t ask any silly questions about his personal life or his family.
I’M GOING TO LOSE MY MIND.Atticus, like many people, has many faces to him. He’s a sociable person, friendly enough to the point to chat up a stranger if something they’re doing interests him. A practical person, Atticus is more than aware of what can be done and what cannot be done. Dreams are fine and dandy, but there needs to be a sense of realism to them. Atticus is a persuasive young man, although he more or less chooses not to use that particular trait unless he really has to. He gets his way most of the time, anyways, so why waste energy thinking of methods to get a particular thing? The only time he deems it fit to use his charms is with girls. Even then, Atticus doesn’t try very hard.
Atticus can be mean when he’s offended. The man can hold a grudge, becoming more resentful by the day. He’s not one to take revenge, but should the opportunity come up, he’ll take it. He doesn’t trust easily, and there’s only a few people who he trusts to save his life or do some dramatic thing like that should the time ever come. For all he appears, Atticus is actually a very private person. Sure, he’ll talk and crack jokes, but he can just as easily be the loner at the bar drinking on his own.
He can be a romantic person in his own ways. Flowers and candlelight dinners? Some girls like that, and he can give them that. But he’s more likely to show up on her doorstep if she owls him and tells him she’s upset over something. Or buy a cute Pygmy Puff because it caught her eye. Heartbreak is something Atticus experienced once and isn’t eager to experience again. He likes flirting, but if a girl isn’t interested and has made it clear, he’s not going to waste his time.
THIS ISN’T A LOVE STORY.Augustus Rookwood and Harrietta Warrick were not in love. Far from it, really. Their marriage was all about keeping the blood pure. Augustus was not a very ideal husband, nor father. Herrietta was a strict mother, always expecting the best from her children. If she couldn’t get her husband to behave the way she wanted, her children were going to behave exactly the way she wanted. Unfortunately, her first born son wasn’t going to fit that mould she had created in her mind of him. From the moment he was born, he was creating trouble for her. Be it crying when she’d placed him down for a moment, or having to get rid of the tree that appeared in his room, Atticus never made her pleased.
She taught all her children about blood purity and how it was the way. Atticus asked questions that didn’t sit well with her and when it was time to send him to Hogwarts, she could only hope that he might have some friends who would make him see the error of his ways. But Atticus Rookwood was sorted into Gryffindor. Gryffindor, the one house he was not supposed to be in. Still, Atticus was not very upset. He was more than happy to be rid of his mother for months at a time. Better still, he didn’t have to hear her nag at him about being a pureblood and how that did wonders for him.
It wasn’t long before he found friends, made enemies and had all sorts of relations with girls. Studying was not his number one priority, but at least he got decent grades. He was never top of his class but he wasn’t failing either. Relations between his mother and him got frostier, to the point where he was ignored when he went home. His father spoke to him, but he was never around much at all. Atticus didn’t know where his father went and frankly, he didn’t care. As soon as he could leave Hogwarts, he was getting out of that house and never looking back.

role play sample:Then again, heroes got the glory. Of course, behind all that glory was hard work. Take Harry Potter for example. Audric didn’t know the bloke personally, but the entire Wizarding World knew of his struggle to defeat The Dark Lord. Or thought they knew. There were more gossips and untruths going about than there were people dying during the second war. Still, for a teenager to defeat the apparently most evil wizard of them all… spoke wonders about him. Or it could be that Voldemort was an incompetent fool who couldn’t kill a child. Audric wondered if he’d say that to Voldemort’s face if he ever had the chance. Probably would. And then live to regret it. Then again, maybe he wouldn’t. He liked to live. It depended on his mood, most likely.
“You’ll never understand me. That is more likely, dear sister.”Audric said smoothly, not removing his gaze from the house. After a few more moments, he finally turned his glance towards her and smiled. “This house is a symbol!” He told her, letting her ask him why he hadn’t informed her about being back in England. “I thought I left Mother back in France.”He muttered darkly, before crossing the distance that separated them. “Tea? With a dash of red in it?” He asked, though his last meal had been just hours ago. “I wouldn’t mind that. That husband of yours around though? I could do without Arianne knowing I’m around.” Audric said, grimacing visibly.
There were days where her company was fine and dandy. Other days? Not so much. Lately, it was one of those off periods they had. “Have you come back here to reminisce? Or just to enjoy the peace and quiet that you can’t get in the Ministry?” Audric asked. The Ministry was the last place on this earth that he would ever want to work at. He knew he’d have some jolly good amusement regarding the politics of the place, but for some reason that place never attracted him.
