desma’s worst memory occurs regularly. her worst memory is whenever anyone brings up the fact that she comes from a blood traitor family. it’s quite shaming for her, and she hates the embarrassment that occurs anytime someone brings that up. but that absolute worst was when she first got sorted into slytherin, as quite a few people at her new house table brought it up at once.
patronus:
ironically, just as her sorting was her worst memory, it was also the best. the teasing she got about her family afterwards was bad, but actually getting into slytherin was amazing. it was where she had wanted to be placed. not only was it the best house in her opinion, but it separated her from her family who had mostly been sorted into hufflepuff with the exception of a few gryffindors.

---macmillan, seventeen, gryffindor

overall history:
both ernie macmillan and elanor watson were hufflepuffs during their time at Hogwarts. elanor was a year ahead of ernie, but they had always been friends regardless. somewhere along the line ernie charmed elanor and eventually they got married. it was supposedly quite a nice story, but desma not took the time to learn it. she could have cared less. all she knew is that they were married when they were twenty, and had their first child a year later, a girl. four years later they had a second. this time a boy.
but six year after the marriage of ernie and elanor is where des starts to care, because that’s when she came into the picture. on april fifth ernie and elanor welcomed their third and final child into the family, once again a girl. as she grew desma started to realize she didn’t fit in with her family. they were always a cheery, happy-go-lucky optimistic bunch, while des was a bit more reserved and cold. she found their excessively happy antics to be quite annoying, and often preferred to stay home rather than go with them as they ventured out on family vacations and such.
desma could have cared less as her sibling started going off to hogwarts. though she was jealous that she couldn’t be going, she was thrilled to not have them around the house. while her brother and sister were at school desma could get a break from being forced into spending time with her familly. she could instead stay up in her room, reading or playing with her own toys rather than having to share anything with her sibling.
when she was eleven desma obviously received her hogwarts letter. she was extremely excited to finally get to go to school herself. her worst nightmare was that she would be sorted into hufflepuff like her parents, or gryffindor like her brother. upon arriving at hogwarts, however, desma was sorted into slytherin. des couldn’t have been happier with the hat’s decision. not only did she find slytherin to be the best house, but it separated her from her family even more.
early in her first year desma’s pureblood elitist view set in. her family consisted of a bunch of blood traitors, it had for a couple of generations now, and it disgusted des. she started to only befriend those with a pureblood status, with only a few halfblood exceptions. her family disapproved heavily, but she couldn’t have cared less. desma’s view on blood statuses have continued to grow, and now she can’t wait to get back to school for her fifth year.

role play sample:The summer had been anything but relaxing for the former Ravenclaw. She had the stress of any recent graduate. She was trying to find herself a job, even though she still wasn’t completely sure what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. Her mother had advised her to take a rest, as she had just graduated and still had time to figure her life out. It’s not like her mom was going to kick her out or anything, ever since her father passed Elizabeth Turpin had been extremely lonely, and she wouldn’t dare get rid of the only other person in the house to fend for herself. The thing was, however, that Lisa wanted a job. She needed to be doing something. She likes to have something to do, and for her a job is a good way to occupy her time.
When she was searching for a job she was spending time with her father’s side of the family, which was the wizarding side of the family. There had been celebration after celebration in the past month. Everyone was celebrating the death of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Unlike the rest of her family, however, Lisa had been there to witness the damage, see the deaths occur. Sure, she was beyond thrilled that the dark lord had been defeated, but she will never get over that some of her final memories of Hogwarts were so tragic.
Today, however, Lisa had a bit of down time, so she decided to make her way down to the muggle library down the road. She enjoyed muggle books just as much as she did any made by a fellow wizard, so the library had always been a popular spot for Lisa to go when she had a bit of time to spare. It was about a ten minute walk for her to get to the library. Of course Lisa would prefer to simply apparate to there, but she couldn’t just appear in a muggle setting.
After pulling on a pair of ballet flats, and grabbing the umbrella she kept next to the door, she opened her front door and made her way outside A rain day had been expected, but it still wasn’t appreciated. Lisa had never liked rain, she preferred over snow, but it still annoyed her greatly. Her hair would frizz up, she absolutely despised the feel of wet clothing, and she hated the noise wet shoes made on floors once you got indoors. As she inhaled through her nose, however, she remembered the one thing she liked about rain. The smell. Everything smelled fresh and clean. Plus, the sound was comforting and always put you in the mood for either a nap or a good read. In other words, Lisa enjoyed rain when she was inside. Once she went outdoors she lost her appreciation for it.
Thankfully, the rain had stopped in time for Lisa to make her trip throughout the town, but she still would have to avoid the puddles that had collected all over the sidewalks. Lisa was almost to the library, and had managed to keep her feet dry. She skipped skillfully from dry spot to dry spot, making sure her shoes never touched a puddle. That was the bad thing about wearing flats, they didn’t offer much protection. One step into a puddle and your foot was soaked. And that wasn’t something Lisa was going to allow to happen. In addition to trying to avoid the puddles in her path Lisa also had to avoid the children splashing around. Sure, Lisa had hopped in puddles when she was younger, but at age eighteen she had grown out of wanting to be either sopping wet or covered in filth at all times.
Unfortunately, she put so much effort into watching her feet and the sidewalk underneath them that she hadn’t been watching those around her. The two shoulders bumped, and Lisa faltered a bit. She stayed standing, but her right foot landed in a puddle. Lisa let out a bit of a grimace as she felt the cold, wet feeling cover her foot. She adjusted where she was standing before looking up at the other person.
The other girl was someone Lisa was familiar with. She had heard her name, Katie Bell, announced at the Quidditch Pitch time and time again. Of course Lisa had often been rooting against Gryffindor, in hopes that her own team would win, but she remembered the girl none the less. She wondered if Katie remembered her, too. Lisa had been a very active person in the school, she was always the quiet one in the background. “I‘m so sorry,” Lisa replied at the same time Katie began to apologize., “If anything, it was my fault. I should have been watching where I was going.” Lisa took a quick glance at the book Katie was holding. Being the bookworm she was she would hate to know she was part of the reason that a book was destroyed. “Nope, I’m perfectly fine. How about you? Are you okay?”
