A gentle grunt escaped her lips as she continued walking up the many steps toward the towers. She was headed to the secret passage way that led to the rooftops where she would await her best friend, Scorpius Malfoy. She could feel the end of the school year coming especially with the warm breezes flowing through and hitting her skin. This was definitely the best weather all year after break thus far. She ran a hand through her blonde locks before getting tired of the mass of hair and pulling it up into a loose ponytail. There. That was much better. The breeze tickled the hairs on the back of Darla's neck. Out of habit, she reached up, running her fingertips against the back of her neck before dropping her hand. A gentle smile crept across her lips as she spotted the ladder that seemed to blend into the wall ajar. Carefully, Darla climbed up the ladder, pushing herself up into the rafters once she had reached the top. She then made her way across the rafters and through an opening that put her on the rooftops to one of the many towers that surrounded the castle. She walked out a bit before sitting down, tugging her knees to her chest, watching the sun slowly begin to set. It was an absolutely gorgeous view and it only made her wish she had someone to watch it with. Which reminded her. Scorpius. Expertly, Darla whistled loudly, waiting only a few breaths before her trusty eagle owl came flying down near her. She quickly tied a rolled up note to the owl's leg, muttering gently to send it "As quickly as you can fly now. I'm already tired of waiting for him." Her tone was gentle enough the bird knew she wasn't angry and followed orders by soaring off to Scorpius.
For a few moments, Darla watched her owl, hoping Scorpius just flew to the spot and wasn't being ridiculous like her and think that walking would be sufficient enough. She really wasn't even sure why she wanted Scorpius to be there. It wasn't like she really needed him other than for some company. Well..she could tell him how she had started looking at the Weasley girls a bit excessively then dismissed the thought in her own head. Why in Merlin's beard would she tell him that? It wasn't like she was infatuated with any of the Weasley girls. Sighing to herself, Darla rubbed the bridge of her nose, wishing her personal problems weren't as messed up as they were. Why couldn't her main problem be passing Herbology with an E? Or better yet, what she could do extra to become Head Girl next year. But of course, her problem was about girls when in fact it should be about boys...according to her parents. Maybe that's what she could bother Scorpius with. How to tell her parents to not expect grandchildren anytime soon. What did it matter? Her parents probably had some dim-witted pureblood lined up for her to marry. One of the many downfalls to being a part of the pureblood supremacy movement. Whatever. She was in school one more year. She had that whole year to do as she pleased before being locked down.
Doing her best to forget about the dread that awaited her a year from now, she laid down agains the rooftop, closing her eyes as the sun's setting rays glided across her pale body. She continued laying there, drifting into a light sleep, the rays warming her just enough to keep her comfortable on the rooftop. Awaiting Scorpius became far less of a chore especially once her mind conjured up mini dreams that caused a light smile to creep across her full lips.
