THE TRUTH COMES OUT IN THE BREAKDOWNS( • M E M O R I E S M Y G O D T H E S E M E M O R I E S • )It was that time of year. The time of year when Sara would be returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for her last and final term. She wasn't quite sure how she felt about this; part of her wanted to jump and squeal with delight, while the other part of her wanted to remain at Hogwarts for five more years. There was only one way she could stay at Hogwarts indefinitely, however, and it was one road she was not willing to take---she would never voluntarily become a Professor.
The only time Sara had ever traveled by Floo Powder was during her second year, when she had to visit her cousins, whom at the time lived about two hours from her house. It had resulted in an accidental trip to a second-hand bookshop in London, which was why she had never again traveled by Floo Powder, she went through the Leaky Cauldron instead. It wasn't because she was terrified of Floo Powder anymore, but because her parents never again trusted her or her brother to travel that way. That was why, rather than taking a much more better route to Diagon Alley, she was forced to travel like a muggle would, even at seventeen years of age.
"Stupid muggle clothes," she thought, stopping to check the watch she had gotten one week previously for her birthday. Seeing that she needed everything new and expensive, her parents had bought her a solid gold watch with her name spelled out with diamonds. It was now her favorite possession, and she wore it every where she went---even to go school shopping. She sighed and glanced around, a permanent scowl upon her face. If it were up to her, she would have never made that law about wizards doing magic in front of muggles. She would have hexed all of them by now, no doubt about it. Seeing that it wasn't up to her, though, she kept walking, refusing to look up at anyone walking towards her.
After about ten minutes of silence, she had arrived at the Leaky Cauldron. In order to hide her muggle clothes, she put on one of her solid black cloaks. She didn't need anyone to question what house she in. "What are you all looking at,"
she snapped, glaring at a witch sitting in a chair not to far away from her. A man attempted to guide her toward the entrance to Diagon Alley, but she glared at him and he allowed her to walk past. Why couldn't Diagon Alley be somewhere closer to a wizarding village, rather than a muggle one? She sighed and brushed those thoughts from hr mind as she entered Diagon Alley. After all, it was pointless to get herself in a bad mood, wasn't it? "First place, Flourish and Blotts," she muttered, pulling out a piece of parchment from her pants pocket. With a Flourish of her wand, the piece of parchment unfolded itself and was now flying in midair. Written in her loopy handwriting was a check list for what she was supposed to get for school. Just as she was about to put her piece of parchment away, she ran into a glass display case. With a jolt, she realized that the case was displaying the new Firebolt 500. She sighed wistfully, and then realized that she was surrounded by little kids. "You want the little broom," she hissed at a little girl standing right next to her. "Well, you can't have it!" Suddenly, she grabbed out her wand and without thinking about it, she made the broom catch on fire. Before she had to listen to little kids cry, she ran off, making it to Flourish and Blotts five minutes before she had actually expected to. After buying all of the textbooks she needed for school, she exited the shop. Suddenly, she saw a cart that was selling chocolate frogs. "Candy," she exclaimed, her face turning red as she quickly walked toward the cart. "I'll buy five," she told the witch selling the candy. After paying for her chocolate frogs, she walked toward a nearby bench and then sat down. She knew this would be a day manifested with torture. How she hated shopping for her school supplies among the many arseholes that paraded the school, they were all so annoying, such pests. Though she was a Slytherin, she hated the majority of her peers, only keeping up appearances for society's sake. If the Slytherins weren't sticking together, then why should the other houses? Course, she knew that logic was flawed for not every Slytherin was meant to get along with every Slytherin. Only the most annoying, bratty, self-righteous ones remained together while the other not-so-arrogant ones kept to themselves and tried their best to stay out of the limelight. Vesper happened to be not as arrogant as one might think and didn't give off the persona that she was for what purpose would that hold? Then others would hate her for something she wasn't rather than for what she was and she could see no fun in that. A smirk cracked at the edges of her features as she finished getting ready, slipping on her acid faded jeans and Nirvana shirt. She knew that since she was a Pureblood, she should despise all things Muggle and hate having to wear muggle clothes to go out in the real world but there were higher priorities on her list. She couldn't give a damn about blood status or the hatred they seemed to evoke within the turmoiled hearts of spoiled little snakes.
For as long as she could remember, she had never given two shits for those other purebloods considered 'lowly.' Muggles weren't any different to her than wizards, minus the fact that wizards could use magic. But when it came to the Muggle-borns, her house jeered and snickered at them, thinking them unworthy to use magic, though who were they to judge? For all they know, their parents could be lying to them about their blood status and they could merely be half-breeds or pig swine. That's what she thought of them anyway. She had no respect for her peers for they were all so disastrously disgusting. She couldn't bear looking at them for they represented everything she despised in the world and everything they held dear was like a smack in the face for the rest of the human race. If anything, they would be the downfall for the wizarding community, mark her words. Having been in the same house as them for going on six years, she had learned their tactics and all the refuges they ran to when all else failed. They were a disgrace and the Dark Lord would be ashamed the second his eyes fell on them. So this is what Hogwarts had taught these kids? These are the baddest kids in the school? Puh-lease! A soft chuckle escaped her lips as she shook her head in amusement, knowing full and well what awaited her peers if they didn't shape up soon.
They all claimed they wanted to help the Dark Lord and be there for him no matter what, yet they were the most cowardly pieces of shit her eyes had ever come across. They had no back bone and were only out for themselves. Though she hated others, she knew that at times, she would have to sacrifice herself in order to save them, that was just common sense. Normally, a Slytherin would hear this tactic and guffaw in laughter, but if they wanted any chance at succeeding, they would have to learn to stop living for themselves and start living for the Dark Lord. Realizing her thoughts were taking hold once more and preventing her from getting ready at top speed, she attempted to shut her brain off as her eyes glanced at her figure in the mirror, plopping a bowler hat atop her head gently. Peering closer at her face, she decided her make-up was in perfect condition, as always, before she slipped into her red and black satin shoes. She had always been such a perfectionist when it came to her make-up. People complimented her occasionally on it, but if only they knew the amount of time it took her to get her liquid eyeliner in a perfectly straight line across her eye lid. A sigh escaped her form as she grabbed her satchel, slinging it over her chest and shoulder before she peeked inside to make sure she had all her essentials; money, cigarettes, lighter, etc. Making sure she had everything, she escaped her flat, which she had gotten so as to not have to go back home to her father, and made her way towards Diagon Alley.
It didn't take long before she arrived for her to notice the antics of the other witch. Vesper watched her sparingly for they had had to go in the same shops to get their school things, though of course Vesper avoided going in at the same time as the other brunette. She had many reservations when it came to Sara and her personality was a major turn off. If anything, Sara was the most arrogant of all the girls in her house, her father once making a comment that she was similar to a Pansy Parkinson that used to reside at Hogwarts years below him. Of course, in social situations when it was absolutely necessary, Vesper held her cool and didn't let the girl in on how much she actually despised her. It was like that with most everyone in her house, though, so it wasn't too much of a hassle. Over the years she had grown used to hiding her true emotions, hence why nowadays she just comes off as emotionless or distant. Her thoughts were cut short by the sound of a rather annoying voice as she passed by the Quidditch shop, her attention won over by the sight of a broom lit on fire. An arch of the eyebrow followed as she was unsure as to how the girl could cast underage magic without the Ministry of Magic on her tail. She shrugged to herself, letting it go, though her nose wrinkled slightly as she watched from afar Sara claiming five candies from a witch selling sweets before hastily finding a place to sit down. She walked past, hoping the girl wouldn't notice her, though knowing it was rather unlikely for the girl never passed up an opportunity to talk to her for some reason.
