And Hogsmeade was no different. Store windows had pink and red hearts with all different sayings; al lovey dovey sayings. Vic knew some girls and most guys who hated Valentine's day. Mostly because they were single. And she understood why they would hate a holiday dedicated to couples; it made them think what they were doing wrong to not be in a relationship. Victoire never really had a problem with the holiday. It was a cute day and she didn't even mind it with herself being single. She had been single for the past few years on Valentine's day. And she always did something; either went out to the Three Broomsticks or hung out with Teddy. He was never her Valentine but she spent the day with him just because they were both alone. He was her best friend so she might as well spend the day with him, like she did most days. Hogsmeade was crowded as usual. However it seemed the most crowded places were Honeydukes and Madame Puddifoots. Chocolates for everyone's sweethearts and Madam Puddifoot's because it was the most romantic place around. That was where Victoire was headed. She didn't know how Ted and her agreed on the place but it had happened. And she reminded him last night and this morning that they were meeting there today. It wasn't an actual date or maybe it was. They were going to a place where couples usually went but Vic thought they were going as friends. For once the two of them didn't want to be alone on Valentine's day so they were going out together. As friends or as a couple Vic didn't know and she wasn't going to ask. She would be ecstatic if it was a date but that was up to Teddy. For right now she would enjoy her tea and his company. Walking into the tea shop there was soft music playing and couples everywhere. Most of the couples were way too close together and looked like they were sharing the same seat instead of the two seats that were at the table. Vic had to smile at how overdone everything was for the holiday. Little cupids were flying around and the hearts seemed to be falling from the ceiling. "How cute," Victoire said quietly looking around the place for an empty table. She found one towards the back of the shop and thankfully it wasn't next to some googley eyed couple. Once she sat down, Vic drummed her fingers against the table lightly, waiting for Teddy. Her eyes were on the door hoping that the next person to walk in was him. A waitress came over, who looked like she would rather be anywhere else, and asked her what she wanted. "A raspberry tea." Torie said with a smile on her face. She wasn't much of a tea drinker, black coffee was more her style but she would feel bad ordering coffee in a tea shop. The young woman came over a few minutes later with her tea and Vic told her thanks, with nothing in response. Without thinking much Victoire took a sip of her tea and manage to burn the roof of her mouth and her tongue, "Damnit." Vic said rather loudly putting down her cup. It was just then that the noticed other customers were looking at her and her cheeks blushed red. "Sorry." She said softly a bit embarrassed that she disturbed them. |
