Ever since Estella was a little kid she loved astronomy. She always loved the concept of it and she just loved staring at the sky and thinking. Plus, on top of all of that she loved stars, or to be more specific, shooting stars. As a child she would wish on every shooting star with her father. Her mother had always told her that it was foolish, but she and her father never listened. It was fun, and even though she knew that stars did not grant wishes, she continued to wish on them. While she had never seen many shooting stars, the ones that she sees she always wished on. Unlike many other children though, she never wished for things she knew that she would never get. They were always sensible wishes like to be able to read all of the books in her family's library or get a life time supply of chocolate. So, perhaps not all her wishes were sensible and achievable but Estella was a kid back then and what kid didn't make pointless wishes at least once? Wishes she made usually didn't come true, no matter how achievable they were, but there was one wish that did. She was five and she wished that her parents would take her to the mountains and they did. Despite her wish coming true, Estella still didn't believe that they did. If they did, her mother would still be alive and her father would not be insane.
She was often seen at the astronomy tower, if she was not in the library or in the common room. Estella was often up there when she needed to think or get away from everyone in the castle. Not many people came up there unless it was for class or something, which was just the way she liked it. Serene and quiet. Not even the library could compare to how silent the tower was. No one bothered her up here. It was pure bliss. The astronomy tower was the girl's safe haven. She was up here tonight because there had been a lot on her mind lately and she needed a place to think without any distractions. She also felt as though she was going to have another breakdown soon and being up here usually made her feel better. If that didn't work, she could always breakdown here and not let anyone see. Not that she wanted someone to see. After all, she was a strong girl. She was someone who didn't cry, who didn't show fear or weakness. Oh how she wished that she could always be so strong.
Estella sat down on the cold stone, her back leaning up against the edge of the tower. She looked up at the stars, and marveled at how pretty they were and how she would love to be one. To be bright, shining, and beautiful. it was funny really. How her name meant star, and she was the furthest thing from being one. She sighed and tried to tell herself that it was a good thing. After all it's the brightest stars that go supernova. But that never stops her from continuing to wish that she was a star. She was still a child. She still had time think and wish such childish things. With another sigh, she opened up her book, pushing up her large black glasses when she looked down, and began reading.
