overall personality: A logical mind, Addedna likes to think out all options before expressing her opinion. Once all variables have been accounted for, she can argue her point of view until her opposition succumbs to her opinion. She tends to always be right. This can lead her to become quite heated in a discussion as she is a passionate woman. Her beliefs are strong and she isn't shaken easily. When with friends she is able to let loose but around unfamiliar acquaintances she can be rather reserved. Her childhood timid nature can take over and she can blur into the background. However, if she hears something she doesn't like; she will interject.
Some say that Addedna lacks creativity but she would beg to differ. Though she is a thinker and not a feeler, most of the time, she is an experienced authoress. Having sold a few books on the subject runeology or ancient runes. Her books are written under her maiden name of Figfirths as many individuals still cannot pronounce her married name correctly. Her husband isn't as bothered.
Addedna likes to be organized. She likes to finish work on time and expects the same from her students. She sees a clock as a rhythmic aid to life, a thing to help keep order and not a machine ticking away your days on the earth.
Food is more than a necessity for Addedna. She was raised eating proper food. Her father was a wonderful cook and wouldn't be happy unless his children ate the very best. Her favourite meal as a child was glittergrass soup. It was so flavourful and wonderous that she still eats it everyday today. She insists that the house elves use her father's recipe. Her first career choice was of a food critic but that never came into fruition.
Being the matriach of her large family, Addedna is a caring mother, aunt and grandmother. She would be nowhere without her family and would kill for them. Luckily and thankfully, all is well at the moment. With her father's recent death, Addedna has become more family orientated and takes care to remember her mother's needs.

overall appearance: Edna was once one to look at. Many of her friends craved her thick lushious hair wheras the boys would crave her. She had white porcelain skin with a slight red hue to her cheeks. To some she appeared rather vampiric but that was just a phase. She never caught the sun very well and tended to burn easily. Now in her later years, she is able to soak up the sun better. As a child, she tended to wear her hair down or up in a ponytail and never experimented with different lengths. As an adult, it isn't uncommon to see her with odd looking hairstyles and misshaped hats. Her hair usually has a natural curl to it and falls to her shoulders. She has a large crooked nose which curves slightly at the end.
Edna takes care of her appearance by wearing flattering makeup and tidy clothes. A pair of weird earrings aren't out of place either. She wears far more dresses and robes than trousers as she likes to show her feminity but still upholding her stern composure. As a Ravenclaw alumni, she enjoys wearing shades of blue to express her pride of the intelligent house.
overall history: Magdalena Van Gespegy, a witch of German nationality, was working as a representative of her country's ministry in Britain when she met her future husband. The woman was in her twenties and her raven black hair attracted the man. Jonas Figfirths was a geographer and an historian who happened to be in the Minstry at the time, complaining about the lack of funding to his university. They courted for a few months until he wore her down and she consented to marriage. Lena left her job at the Ministry and worked at the University for a short while but ultimately quit to be a housewife. After much deliberation, they decided to have children and soon enough Lena found herself pregnant. Her pregnancy was a difficult one but she got through it unharmed.
There first child was Addedna. Her childhood was a good one. She was delighted when she recieved her letter from Hogwarts. She was sorted into Ravenclaw and found her preference in Ancient Runes, Transfiguration and Charms. She graduated second in her year as she was careful to always revise thoroughly for each subject.
After Hogwarts she trained to be a teacher in University and took some time out in Germany with her parents. She returned alone to finish her training. After a few years working as a substitute, she eventually earned the full title of professor, taking over Transfiguration from Minerva McGonagall as she was appointed the school's headmistress. The years passed and she met her husband, had her children and then came to work at Hogwarts.
After three years of working there she was awarded with the Head of Ravenclaw position when Professor Flitwick left to continue his career as a duelist. She is recognized around the school as a part of the furniture and is well respected for her skill and methods despite her sterness so it was no surprise when she became headmistress after McGonagall's retirement - becoming the only head of hogwarts the children of the famous trio have known. Relinquishing her title of Head of Ravenclaw was a difficult decision as she is a big patriot for the house. She had now been Headmistress for seven years and has no plans for moving out of her office.

role play sample:The chatter of the Great Hall was suddenly silenced like a knife into a balloon as the deinty sound of a spoon tapping a crystal goblet was heard. The remainder of chatting was soon squashed by a few hushes from various professors at the staff table. Rising from the central throne was a raven haired witch dressed in robes of red, blue, yellow and green. Though under most circumstances a robes of such colours would be enough to make the fashion police's heads turn but somehow Addedna pulled it off in a feat of pure magical mastery. Though a keen Ravenclaw herself, she felt it necessary to show good sportsmanship by adorning her frame with colours of each house.
"Ladies and gentleman of the student body," she began with a gleeful smile. "I would like to official announce my appointment as headmistress of hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry and express how welcome I have been made to feel by each and every one of you. This year shall be a good one. I can feel it. I hope we can turn over a new leaf while retaining much of the morning dew of before. We are all here to learn but we are also here to have a bit of fun. So, next month's quidditch match has been moved forward to this friday so that we all have something to look forward to. I know it will be a fair game indeed and each side has an equal chance of succeeding... Though, I hear the Eagles are on tip-top form this year." She added with a wry smile, causing a few snickers, chuckles and titters amongst the staff and students alike. "But enough delay. Let the feast begin."
Raising a silver-stitched hanky into the air, she released it from her grip and in that moment a lushious and plentiful array of foods appeared before everyone's eyes.
