It was eight in the late afternoon and every student finished their dinner and should be in either their common rooms or their dormitories. As far as Vince Cameron, Head Boy, knows, all of his fellow Ravenclaws were somewhere in the Ravenclaw Tower. But that is just one house of four that are accounted for. He, the Head Girl, and all of the Prefects from each house needed to do their checks around the school to make sure no other student was out without permission.
He went to the front of the Ravenclaw Common Room and stood himself up in front of the fire place. He motioned to get everyone’s attention and said "I need all of the Prefects to do checks in the school. Please make sure you all get to your designated spots for tonight. For the rest of you, if you get caught out tonight, you are in troub-" he cut off his sentence and looked at the closest few people to his left and continued what he was saying, "I promise you that you will get in trouble. I do not want Ravenclaw to get the reputation of trouble makers. O.K.? Everyone have a good night!"
He stepped away from the fireplace as he heard harsh murmurs in his direction and the chatter that picked back up. He headed towards the exit of the common room and walked through the door. He does not care if people in his own house are irate towards him at the current moment because he was just doing his job. Of course, he sometimes gets in trouble and is not perfect, but he is serious about kiddos not getting in trouble on a weeknight. He would not mind it much if it was during the weekend. Ravenclaws have to stay put and study before they think about trouble. I do say he is a bit on the serious side of what he said about his house's reputation.
He stepped away from the door and headed down to the seventh floor, occasionally stopping to check in on a person in a painting here and there. One person in a painting reminded him to always carry his wand with him because Vince may never know what could happen. This was told to Vince every single night when he went out to inspect the halls, but he did not complain much. He had always checked to see if he had his wand, showed off his wand to the man in the portrait, and thanked him as he went on his merry way. Tonight, he started to panic a bit once he could not find his wand right away.
"See! Are you not glad I reminded you, boy! And you call yourself a Head Boy! I will look into it that the staff looks into doing something about your title!"
Vince finally found his wand in the pocket of his robes and held it up to show the smart ass that was criticizing him. "Do not worry about talking to anyone, my good man. If it was not for you, I would not even think twice about carrying this with me."
Lie, since Vince always had his wand with him. He has a knack for wands and would not know what he would do without his wand. He just wanted the man in the portrait to quiet down.

There were some things that came with being Head Girl; Victoire had to be responsible, which she already was and actually enforce the rules. She had been Prefect years previous but now she was technically in charge of the Prefects. She told them where they had to do their rounds and at what times. When problems arose between students the problems came to her before going to a Professor and if need be to the Headmistress. Vic liked to think that she gave good advice and was good at problem solving. She did have many cousins and younger siblings, she had much practice in the area. Currently, Vic was in the common room with the Gryffindor Prefects and most Gryffindors. She already knew who the trouble makers were and would tell them everything later. She knew the Head Boy was also giving a speech at the time too. It came with being Head Boy/Girl.
"All right everyone, settle down. I promise it won't take more than a minute." Vic yelled out at her housemates. It was rather easy to grab the males' attention but it took a bit more with the gossipy females. "I know Valentine's Day is right around the corner along with the ball. Everyone better behave. I would hate to deduct points from my own house," she said smirking at everyone. "Because we better win the House Cup this year being my last year. So if you wanna make out in the hallway do so, just don't get caught by me, the Head Boy or another Prefect. Especially not a Professor. And don't play any pranks at the ball," At this moment she had to look at her own cousins and laugh. "But if you are going to break the rules. Just don't get caught." Torie was a rather easy going girl to get along with especially with students in her own house. Never in a million years would she actually deduct points from them but would have to do so if someone got in trouble in front of a Professor. "Prefects, you guys should know what to do by now. It's February, I would hope I don't have to repeat myself by now. " She told them giving them a wink before leaving the common room to go on her own duties.
Vic could just imagine the conversation that was going on in Gryffindor right now. Everyone in there knew her and probably had some sort of conversation with her at one point. She made it a point that since she was in her seventh year and a Prefect she should know everyone in the house at least by name. And so far she has succeed. She knew that the Gryffindor students were probably talking about how easy going she was and that of course she was a Weasley, Vic expected the pranks and what not. It was in her blood. How could she possibly deduct points for something she probably pulled with her cousins when she was younger?
Walking along the seventh floor she wasn't far from her own common room when she caught sight of the Head Boy. Victoire had to smile seeing him. The two of them had a history. They had dated fourth year and then it ended mutually. She had remained friends with the young man and just by chance they had both gotten the Head Boy and Girl their seventh years. Vic wouldn't want to be paired up with anyone else. She watched as Vincent pulled out his wand to show the painting. Oh how could she not poke a little fun with him.
"That would have been something, the Head Boy leaving his wand behind." Victoire said coming over to his side, smiling. "I think you just have way too many pockets, Vincent." she said laughing and looking up at the painting. "Good evening, sir." Torie said giving the man in the painting a smile. "Good thing we got you here to keep Vince inline." she finished giving the man in the painting a wink. "Well Vince and I have to go make sure no students are out of bed. Have a good night."
Victoire took Vince by his upper arm lightly to take him away from the painting. Well at least now she wouldn't be bored walking around the castle. "So how are those Ravenclaws? Studying and never breaking the rules?" she asked jokingly continuing walking down the hall.

Vince had pocketed his wand as he heard a familiar and charming voice approaching him. He looked over and noticed it was none other than Miss Victorie Weasley, his counterpart in the dynamic duo of Head Girl and Head Boy positions. He had smiled at her arrival and was glad he had a person of interest with him on the nights duties. "It would make a very interesting story. The schools Head Boy without his wand. Especially since he has a knack for them. But, yes, I am glad you are here to keep me inline, good chap, you." He had looked back towards the portrait and nodded a good courtesy nod.
"For the record, I do believe our Head Girl will have her wand on her as well. We do not want both of us to have missing wands." He had looked back to Victorie and smiled. "You are right. We do have to search for any students out of bed."
He had felt her latch onto his arm as they walked away from the portrait. He had taken his free hand and patted her arm a couple of times before putting it back down to his side. "You're right about my pockets. There are too many for my own good. I honestly do not know why my mum sewn more-than-needed amounts of them every which way, but I can't argue with the nut. She means well, though. Actually, I honestly worry about her. Over Christmas break, she had made me put up these... Christmas lights around the house. She failed to mention to me if I had touched any of the bulbs with any bare skin, the bulb will explode. It exploded in a fruity scent, but left a small welt on my finger." He had laughed awkwardly as he pulled his hand back up to examine his finger. "Ya, you remember how nutters she is, right? Be glad you aren't getting married into my family, or you'd have her as a mother-in-law. I do not want you missing any fingers decorating anything."
It was too bad that she wasn't getting married into the family, since the two had dated about three years back or so. They were probably one of the best couples Hogwarts had in years, but they agreed that they were better off as friends. "Marriage, that reminds me. How is your love life? Chasing after Teddy, I have heard? He is a great guy. I do not know much about him and rarely talked to him, but he seems to be a great guy.
No hard feelings on Vince's part. It was the honest truth. Victorie, despite how much Vince cared for her as a friend, was merely just one of his best friends. They were fourteen when they dated, anyways. They were awkward as an item, trying to romance on each other with whatever knowledge they had on romance, but it did not merely work out. Plus, Teddy was really a decent guy and probably could romance better on Victorie than Vince could ever do, regardless of the fact they were seventeen now.
"Speaking of our love lives..." he had paused with a chuckle, "Someone has taken a liking to me. She is in the same house as I am and in the same year as the both of us. Oh, er, speaking of the Ravenclaws. There are a few rule breakers in Ravenclaw. Every apple has it's bad worm. No, he was not great with metaphors, apparently mixing up 'seeds' for 'worms.' Close, though, since you could find seeds and worms alike in an apple. Credit, though, since Ravenclaws have to have creativity instead of smartness once in a while.[/blockquote]

Over the years Victoire hadn't spent much time talking with the portraits however every now and then one would have an interesting story about her family members. And also some of them proved useful to catch students who were out of bed. Some of the portraits were difficult and if Vic wanted to know anything about them she had to charm them. It was difficult using her veela charm on a portrait but it seemed to work; men were men even in portraits. "And I do have my wand on me," Vic said taking out her wand showing the portrait. "Veela hair core, from my own great grandmother. Works very well for me. I hope you have a good evening." Vic said as she was walking away with Vince on her arm. Some might think that after dating like the two of them did and being one of the best couples Hogwarts has ever seen it might be awkward. However the two managed to remain friends over the years; even though Vic knew there would always be a special place in her heart for Vince.
"Your mum means well. Thankfully my mum never became much of a homemaker or anything. She much preferred to go to work once my siblings and I were old enough. But my grandmother I have to please every year at Christmas. My Uncle George warned me that my grandmother would make me a sweater with a big V on the front of it for Christmas each year. And every Christmas I get a dark blue sweater with a gold V sewn into it. It's an ugly thing but I have to wear it for the day. It's even worse with the V, thankfully I never wear it out in public." Vic said shuddering at the very thought of the sweater which was stuffed in the back corner of her trunk in her dorm. When Vince brought up the exploding light bulbs she had to laugh a bit. She had never heard of such a thing! But when he brought his hand up to examine to welt she took it with her free hand and gave it a kiss. "All better." Torie said smiling. She didn't mean anything by the kiss or anything she did that thing all the time with her girlfriends. "Your family nutters? Be thankful you aren't getting married into mine. So many names and you would have to live with a Weasley. People would hate you just because you were next to me." Victoire said laughing. She always laughed off that some people out there wanted to kill her because of her last name. She wouldn't bring someone into that if she didn't think they could handle it.
When Vince mentioned her love life, a slight blush went to her cheeks. Usually it took a lot to make her blush but this was her ex-boyfriend asking her about who she was seeing now. But what really made her blush was that he knew about Teddy. Sure the two were always together but she always expected that she crushed on him more than he crushed on her, if he did crush on her. "Haha marriage, Vince? I'm seventeen marriage is the last thing I really want to think about." she said shaking her head not even knowing that her love life would be in the future. "And as for my love life, I am single. Crushing hard on Teddy. How did you know about him?" Torie honestly felt comfortable enough to trust Vince not to go off and blab to Teddy that she had feelings for him. But she was also curious if it was just that obvious she liked him since all her cousins seemed to figure that much out. "But I'm playing it safe with him. He has been my best friend since we were young. I would hate to lose him over a crush. So I guess that means I'm going to the ball stag."
"Oh really? What's her name?" Victoire asked him curious as to what girl has taken a liking to her ex-boyfriend. There were no hard feelings or jealousy but Vince was still her friend and she did care for him. "But what really matters is do you like her back? And are you going to ask her to this Valentine's Day Ball?" Vic asked raising an eyebrow with a smirk on her face. He deserved out of any guy she knew to have a date to this ball. He was probably one of the nicest guys in Hogwarts. "And a bad apple in Ravenclaw? No way. The worse things you guys do is not return a library book on time." She said poking fun at the Ravenclaws for being so studious.

"I have actually heard good and bad things about your family. Though, I do not listen to much of the bad stuff and I will let you clue me in on what is what in the family. I actually have heard about your gran. Honestly, I wouldn't mind a sweater. Then again, it really depends on how horrid it was." He had shrugged at the thought. How awful could a plain sweater be? "My mum can send your family some of the lights, if they want. And at least your parents have normal jobs, right? Your family? My parents take care of the dead wizards. Morticians, funeral directors. Not a bad job in my opinion, but people think it is awful. I guess they think that way because they work with death. I bet nothing in your family can beat that, though, in weirdness?"
He would like to meet her family, other than her cousins, though, even though he is only close to Victorie and merely acquaints with her cousins. Her cousins didn't seem that bad. Except for the random pranks once in a while, but that is something he usually let go. But he wants to meet her family and see for himself why she wouldn't want anyone to be a Weasley. Oh, he knew a lot of the nicknames given, but he didn't clearly know why. It is always good to learn, he supposed. They were the best of friends, so he had the right to know a little bit about her family.
"You bring him up once in a while and one of your friends had said you talk about him, so I had to assume." He nodded as they reached the end of the corridor that lead to the right into another corridor. The seventh floor was a bit shifty in his opinion, but he had gotten used to it. "Playing it safe is a good idea. We played it almost-safe and we ended up agreeing to be friends. So I do suggest playing it safe. I don't know how he is, though, with relationships, though, so I can not tell you how he will react with dating or being friends after breaking up. Guys are different. Guys are different and the situation can make things different."
He was right, though. The two had been friends since they broke up but he had heard of guys rarely talking to their exes after breaking up. Then again, half of those guys had long relationships with the girls they were with and the fact of their exes hanging around will remind him of... whatever they had in the relationship.
"Her name? Oh. Celeste. Another Ravenclaw. Honestly not a bad apple of Ravenclaw. And, as a matter of fact, she returns her books in early." He had laughed, though he had no idea if Celeste was accurate with turning in her books. "I plan on going, but I am going to see if Celeste wants to go. More in likely, yes. Though, the bad apples of Ravenclaw plan on going, Any opportunity to rebel against the 'bookish Ravenclaw' reputation. The lot thinks putting down a book or studying less makes them look cool or less like a Ravenclaw, but eh. Whatever floats under their skirts."
