It wasn’t strange to see students walking around in Hogsmeade. After all, it was a popular place for students and adults alike, and most shop keepers were use to seeing students around. No, the strange thing was seeing the one and only Kaitlyn Bluud walking along the streets of Hogsmeade. The girl rarely went out to Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley. She didn’t like the big crowds, and much preferred it when it was dark outside. It was quieter, there was no one to bother her, and it was much more beautiful when it was nighttime, in the brunette’s opinion. But here she was, walking down the cobblestone streets, careful to avoid bumping into people and overall, avoided most people.
She walked up and down the streets, with no real destination in mind, which was also strange for the girl. Kaitlyn never left the castle unless she had a specific place in mind to go. She didn’t like wandering around because she was often forced into interacting with people that she did not want to know or did not want to meet again. The brunette had little patience for useless interaction. She only spoke to those she deemed good enough for her presence or those weak minded enough for her manipulate. Lately though, she had a hard time finding people who belonged to the former.
After walking around for a couple of more minutes, Kaitlyn decided that she needed to find a place to sit down and rest. Hog’s Head was an obvious place for her to go. It was where she usually went whenever she came to Hogsmeade. Despite the fact that it was such a sad and dingy place, she quite liked it. It was quiet and no one really went there. No one also questioned her presence there, nor did they care. But today, she wanted a change of location, so she decided to go to The Three Broomsticks intead. Hopefully though, there weren’t too many people there.
She began to make her way towards the pub. The brunette pushed open the door and stepped inside. She surveyed the room, and sighed. There were many people in the pub, but it didn’t seem as though she knew any of them. Kaitlyn found an empty table and sat down. She started to ask for some firewhiskey, but stopped when she realized that they would not believe that she was old enough to drink, so she asked for a butterbeer instead.

The miserable weather hadn't been enough to deter half the wizarding community from doing their back to school shopping exactly the same day that Addedna had decided to visit Hogsmeade. Apparently the wonders of Diagon Alley didn't surfice for these people. The cobble stone trail was packed with clicking heels and loud chatter; which was uplifting but the average speed of slugs pace was frankly irritating. The hygiene didn't bother the woman all too much as it was hard to see the ground at all. It was only when she'd get to her destination that she'd notice the mud on her boots.
Leaving the hallowed school behind, she attempted to weave her way in between the large crowd. She exchanged 'pardons' and 'excuse me's' to a few people as she bumped into them. Pulling her crimson velvet coat closer to her frame she attempted to pass her way around a trading cart making it's way up the main road. It bewildered her why on earth it was allowed to traverse up the narrow and overly-populated path.
After what felt like an age, she eventually found her location, The Three Broomsticks. She'd been corresponding with one of her daughters-in-law who had found herself pregnant again - adding another plate setting to the Christmas table. With a hop, skip and a jump to avoid: a child, a bench and a cat she reached the door. Passing through the threshold she shielded her eyes from the change of light. It took only seconds to adapt before she removed her tophat and whisked some dust from it's surface. Her hair bobbed around for a moment as she searched for the hat stand. It was tucked behind a pile of bottles but was full of hats - conical and bowler. Biting her lower lip she made a quick decision. She pushed the ends of the hat until her hands met in the middle. The hat had gone in a small puff of smoke. She'd summon it once more with her departure. Smiling to various patrons she'd come to recognize, her eyes fell on one regular goer to her office. She raised an eyebrow with intrigue as she overheard the word 'fire' but was pleased to see she had a chance of heart.
"I should think so." She approached the table before gesturing to the opposite chair. "May I?" Her relative would be a while so there was no harm in chatting to someone else for the time being.

Kaitlyn played with the bottle of butterbeer, her finger tracing the circle of the bottle, only looking up with a man tried to charm her. She bared her fangs, and let out a small growl. The girl did not have any reservations on killing him. Actually, truth to be told, she didn’t have reservations about killing anyone in the pub right now if they bothered her. The man quickly backed away and apologized, and she let a small smile grace her lips, and continued to play with the bottle instead of taking a drink.
While she moved the bottle in small circles, she began thinking of things she usually reserved for the dark, when she was in the confines of her dorm. She wondered about how her sister and brother were doing. Even though she was never too close to her siblings, she had always cared about them, though she certainly didn’t show it very well. Letting them fend for themselves when trouble came, forcing them to clean up her messes when she lost control. Of course, it should be noted that she was attempting to be a better person and learn to not appear as a stereotypical Slytherin, though how well she was doing could be up for debate.
A voice shook her out of her thoughts, and Kaitlyn quickly looked up to see who was bothering to speak to her. When she realized that it was only the headmistress of Hogwarts, her posture relaxed and she smiled. The brunette had always quite enjoyed the woman’s company. “Of course you may Mrs. Flysly.” she said in reply, gesturing at the seat across from her. Perhaps a chat with the woman could get her mind off of things Kaitlyn thought as she continued to play with the bottle of butterbeer.

"Why thank you, Ms. Bluud." She replied, mimicking the girl's choice of formality. Unbuttoning her outer robe, she swung it over the back of her chair before settling quite happily on the wooden seat. Setting her ringed palms onto the table, she made a very obvious attempt to have a look around the place from her now seated position. Content with the location the young girl had selected, she grinned. "Good choice. This is one of the only tables in this place that doesn't have a book keeping it on balance." She joked, hoping to get a rise out of the otherwise negative attitude slytherin.
"Been a good while since I graced these walls. Hasn't changed one bit." She expressed, happy to see the familiar faces still in place. She paused for a moment to give a brief wave to the barman who followed her gesture with a toothless smile. It was then she noticed the waitress was still stood nearby so beckoned her over. "May I have an upside down sandstorm." She requested, refering to a drink that most mature adults wouldn't touch with a barge pole. It was an ingenious little drink which constantly span around like a tornado in your glass. The waitress nodded and moved off into the kitchen to supply the order.
"So then, how have you been?" she turned her attention back to Kaitlyn and spoke as if they were good old friends. Addedna never did care for the borderlines between child and adult. She was just as happy to make friends with an eleven year old as someone of her own age. Besides, they often made better company and were filled with energy and spark. The headmistress prefered to keep professionalism in the classroom and let loose when in social situations. "Still fending off the boys, I trust?" She brought her finger to her chin and shot the girl a wink.

“Ah, well you know. Only the best for me,” she replied with a small smile. While her tone did not convey that she was joking, the smile gave it away. She always had a problem with saying how she actually feels, but occasionally, if she liked you well enough, her facial expression or body movements would give away her true emotions. That was one thing she didn’t plan on changing though. She liked making people guess how she was feeling, the satisfaction of leaving them confused. It was fun and entertaining. Sometimes it seemed to her that everyone was her plaything. Maybe she wasn’t trying to change all her bad traits, but then again if she did, she wouldn’t actually be a Slytherin.
Kaitlyn nodded at Addenda’s comments, though she didn’t care one bit. But she was polite and while she might’ve been older than her in years, she was still the adult physically and most adults deserved to be respected. Of course, she knew that she should apply the same mindset when it came to her peers, but oh well. She raised an eyebrow at the woman’s choice in drink. “That’s an interesting choice,” she remarked. The brunette had tried that drink once. While it was quite pretty to look at, she didn’t like it very much. It was too… much, even for her.
“I’ve been doing quite well, thank you. I’ve been doing well on my classes, most of them are pretty easy,” she replied. Coming from anyone else, it would probably seem as if they were bragging, but the girl had never cared much about that. She was just stating the facts. “How are you? I hope everything is going well for you,” Kaitlyn said, as if she hadn’t seen Addenda for a long time. She laughed at the woman’s next remark, a sound that only she only made whenever she was around her. “Oh, only the ones that doesn’t know about my reputation, or are foolish enough to try, despite it.”

"Oh well, of course. I wouldn't expect any less for you." She continued the jest, happy to see the girl having fun with her words.
"You think? Well, I was introduced to it in my youth and it's just stuck. And the keen magician in me can appreciate the meticulous magic in it. It's a bit gritty because of the sand but it's rather refreshing." She remarked, her mind casting back to her youth for a moment. Days of gossiping the common room, sneaking drinks past the professors and a very different sense of fashion. She smiled to herself briefly, thankful that she'd change the tune of her metaphorical violin. She couldn't imagine dressing in drab black all the time, pasting on heavy dark make-up and avoiding tanning in any sense of the word. Her skin was much more weathered and warm nowadays but the dislike of intense heat had stayed with her.
"Oh really?" she laughed heartily, resting her hand on her chest for a moment. She wondered if her faculty were going easy on the students. It was age old argument that exams and subjects were getting less difficult as the years went on. In her day, things were tougher - she would wager. "Perhaps I ought to reevaluate the curriculum. Or maybe you'd like a bump up to triple advanced arithmancy?" She quipped knowing that such a subject would be the death of any childwizard. Even Addedna had to admit she wasn't overly fond of the numbers included in that field of magic.
"Fine, yes, fine." She replied, approving of the girl's polite pleasentries. It was nice to see when you were speaking with someone of interest. Exchanging 'hellos' and 'how are yous' with boring old men wasn't a tradition that Addedna enjoyed upholding. "Thank you for asking."
"I can imagine." She marveled, picturing herself as a teenager - practically fencing off the select few who were into the dark image that she took on so well. "No bother I hope?"

“I can see why you would enjoy it, but I never could, but to each their own,” she replied with a small shrug of her shoulders. She was fine with people liking different things, and most of the time she didn’t insult someone based on what they like. Well, as long as they didn’t insult what she liked. Despite what most people think, Kaitlyn wasn’t the type of person to start something. She just finished what others started. She didn’t like provoking people, no matter how much it seemed as if she did. She would be fine with everyone if they just minded their own damn business.
The brunette took a drink of her butterbeer and thought about what Addenda said. While arithmancy wasn’t the girl’s favorite or best subject, she was doing quite well for someone who had no interest in numbers. At least, she thought she was. After all an “acceptable” wasn’t that bad. “I would much prefer to be in triple advance arithmancy,” Kaitlyn said a few moments later. She couldn’t see how things would get any worse in that class, seeing how she would never let her grades get any lower than an A and perhaps that would be the much needed push to really dedicate her time to excelling at arithmancy. God knows she needs it. And the brunette had always had a thirst for knowledge. The girl also didn’t want the curriculum to suddenly get harder just because she said classes were easy. As much as she disliked certain people at Hogwarts, she would never do something like that. After all, there were some house mates of hers that were struggling in class, and she didn’t want to make anything harder for them.
“That’s good to hear,” she said with a nod. Now that pleasantries were out of the way, they could finally move onto more important things.
Kaitlyn laughed at her comment. “Oh no, it’s no bother. Usually they leave me alone when I show them my fangs.” Okay, so maybe that wasn’t the best way to fend them off, but it was quite fun and amusing for the girl.

"Quite the noble view to live by." She commented, rather impressed by the girl's diplomacy. "Perhaps the sorting hat was too rash in his decision about you." She mused aloud, knowing that Kaitlyn would likely feel uncomfortable in hufflepuff. But the traits were certainly there. She was polite and adhered to social traditions, hard-working as she did well in her subjects and respectful of any and all creeds. Well, at least it seemed that way. In all there conversations, she had never considered Kaitlyn's life in a different house. Her slytherinic traits were far to prominent to cause doubt. But she could see the humility in her from time to time. Even if she did want to uphold her tough and tumble bravado - Addedna could see she was human inside. Even if she technically belonged to the vampiric circle. And Edna knew from experience how dangerous they could be. She was a fool as a teen and wanted to be one. Nearly cost her her life.
"You would?" she asked, a tad surprised. "I'll see what I can do." She added. Addedna wasn't one to intrude on other professor's teaching as she would hate it if someone did the same to her. But if Kaitlyn's apptitude was being wasted in a standard classroom enviroment, perhaps it would be pertinent to interject and bump her up to an advanced class. She was sure the advanced tutor would be pleased as he never really got many students that were interested in the specialist class. For instance, Edna herself wouldn't go near the corridor it was located, let alone step inside. Some liked numbers. She did not. To each their own, as someone said recently.
At the mention of fangs, the headmistress pursed her lips - the first hint of a serious streak in their otherwise pleasent conversation. "I hope you haven't been scaring the other students. Albeit for me to deny you your livelihood, but maybe you could keep your appendages for the nighttime in your dormitory and refrain from startling others?" Addedna was welcoming of all cultures but not at the extent that it intrudes on others. "I would be most pleased if you could do so. And then, I might look into assigning a few advanced tutors to your life at Hogwarts. I'd hate to think your potential wasn't being nurtured to it's fullest."
Then again, Kaitlyn was quite the ravenclaw...

Had the hat been too rash with sorting her? Maybe. She wasn’t quite sure. There were always days where she thought she fitted better in Ravenclaw, without her love of knowledge, but they were rational thinkers. She was not. She had never been one to do the rational thing. Though that had never stopped her from thinking about, and if she was in Ravenclaw, all the Bluud siblings would be in different houses. Of course, she knew that she would never fit in Gryffindor. She didn’t have a sense of honor and she most definitely did not have a desire to do stupid stunts. She valued her life, thank you very much – except she couldn’t die from those stupid stunts, but that was beside the point. Hufflepuff. Now that was a hard thing for Kaitlyn to decide. She possessed some traits that the house valued, but overall her Slytherin traits overruled them. “Perhaps they did,” she said, taking another drink of her butterbeer. “I thought about my placement in Slytherin quite often. I’ve always wondered if I would’ve fitted in a better in a different house,” she told her, her eyes concentrating hard on the bottle before her.
“Thank you,” the brunette said, with a small smile. She wasn’t sure how long it would take her to find that it was a bad idea, but when she did, she would still stick with it. Kaitlyn was never the kind of person who abandoned projects half way. It just felt strange to the girl. ‘If you started something, shouldn’t you also finish it?’ was often a question that she asked when she saw people not finishing them. She got that some people lose their inspiration, but shouldn’t they save it until their inspiration comes back? It wasn’t as if it abandoned them was it? Dedication was most definitely a trait she possessed.
“I’ll try my best to do so. My intentions weren’t to scare the students,” she replied with a nod of her head. Well, her intentions were to scare the certain boys who were stupid enough to bother her, but she didn’t want to scare all the students. Now that would just be no fun. She needed someone to talk to when she was bored, and her sweet brother just simply wouldn’t suffice. After all, who would want to spend years speaking to one’s sibling? While Kaitlyn did love him dearly – as much as someone like her could love – he was just simply too much sometimes.

"You have?" she asked, intrigued. Her view of the girl had always been one to stick to her wands. It seemed that she was dedicated to slytherin in every sense possible. Perhaps, on this occasion, Addedna had been too quick in her judgement. "Well, it is a common thought. I'm sure many of your fellow students wile away hours of the night musing over life in a different house. I know that when I was in Hogwarts as a child, I often wondered what the slytherin common room looked like. I knew it was in the dungeons but something told me it would be very damp and cold. Now as headmistress, I've been granted access into the slytherin dungeon. And it appears my earlier guessing has proven correct." She laughed, thinking over how odd that was. Addedna wasn't really much of a believer in divination but things like that had happened quite a few times in her lifetime. Oddities were always going to exsist in the magical world.
On that thought, the waitress returned with Addedna's drink - the sight of which delighted her tastebuds. She had quite the thirst. Taking the drink from the younger woman, she insisted upon her her thanks with a small tip of a knut or two. Setting it on the tabletop, she marveled at the bewitchment that was in progress in her glass. It never failed to amaze or disappoint her. Admittedly, it looked slightly different at every establishment but the Three Broomsticks' always made the best. In her humble opinion anyway.
"Cheers." Raising the glass in the air for a moment, she tip a small amount of the contents into her mouth and found it immensely ticklish as it whizzed around in her mouth - almost causing her to sneeze. Enjoying the sensation for a moment, she swallowed and felt it trickle down her throat - the spell slowly dissappating as it reached her stomach.
"I'm sure they weren't." She quickly backtracked, not wanting to make an enemy of the girl. "Just be careful in future." She advised. It was always difficult having vampires or other nocturnal beings at the school and required arduous amount of paperwork. Not to mention the personal professor that was assigned to their case. You never knew when they might snap and it was on the shoulder's of that professor to take control and subdue the student before they hurt someone or themselves. It was no wonder that Addedna personally took governance over Kaitlyn as they friendship grew closer. Though she trusted the judgement of the professor that initial was in charge of her case, she took over in the girl's third year as they had become good friends. "Now then, with that matter aside, are you feeling hungry? I believe the kitchen is yet to shut."
She'd completely forgotten she had come to meet with her daughter-in-law.

“Of course I have. I don’t see how anyone could not. It’s quite normal to isn’t it? I mean, there are certain people who can fit into more than one house and it seems logical to wonder…” Kaitlyn trailed off once she realized that she was rambling. If she had allowed herself to continue talking, she was pretty sure they would be here the whole night. She usually didn’t bother to provide an explanation to what she was doing, how she was feeling, and what she was thinking but whenever it came to Addedna, she felt as she needed too. She wasn’t sure why, but the brunette felt the need to be perfect for her. It wasn’t because she didn’t get enough love as a child or whatever – in fact if you asked her, she would’ve told you that she had too much love – it was just that she felt an annoying need to be absolutely perfect because Kaitlyn is nothing if not perfect, and she needed to have everyone to like her. Well, only those that are important of course.
She raised her bottle of butterbeer in the air. “Cheers,” she repeated with a smile, and brought the bottle to her lips and took a drink. Oh, how she wished she had asked for some firewhiskey instead. It probably would’ve made the girl more bearable to be around and less… uptight.
“I will, don’t worry,” Kaitlyn said, as reassuringly as she could, which was much to be honest. The brunette was not known to be reassuring and honest. She wasn’t quite sure whether or not she’ll “be careful” next time. While the girl was known for being careful and such, she didn’t really bother being so unless she really wanted to be. But seeing how it was Addedna who asked her to be careful, she most likely will be seeing how she respected her quite a lot. “Oh, I would love to get something to eat. I’m starved,” she said with a smile, but it may have been a slight over exaggeration. After all, the brunette didn’t care much for human food, but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy it. This day was going better than she had expected it to.

"Good," Addedna said with a nod. The headmistress prided herself on being open-minded and accepting but she wasn't altogether sure if the vampire would be able to hold up her end of the bargain. She couldn't deny the girl of who she was but then she had students to protect. It was a tricky situation. The seemingly older woman could recall when their kind were banned from Hogwarts for a few years. It made things a hell of a lot easier but Edna had never been at ease with the idea. Everyone had a right to an education. Even if they were technically dead. But she knew the girl had primal urges that were difficult to control. It was why she had volunteered herself to be guardian of the girl during her time at the school. There were a few times when she thought the worst would happen but luckily, it hadn't transpired that way. All in all, she had no complaints. If anything, she wanted the girl to socialize more - but that was different problem.
"Me too." Addedna said, stirring in her seat somewhat. Finishing off her drink, she beckoned over a waiter, thanking him immediately for his service. "May we have two menus please." She asked before quickly grabbing a hold of the man's arm before he went off to get them for her. "Actually, make that two steaks. One medium rare.. the other.." Addedna looked to the vampire at the other side of the table, winked, then looked back to the waiter. "As rare as rare can be. I'll have another upsidedown sandstorm too, if you please. Thank you." The man nodded and disappeared into the kitchen.
"I guessed..." she admitted with a laugh to her companion.

She let a genuine smile grace her lips when Addedna ordered for her. “Thank you. That was an awfully good guess,” Kaitlyn said with a laugh. She didn’t mind having the woman order for her; in fact she was quite glad that she did. She was positive that she was going to end up taking a long time to think of what to order. While the brunette generally was indecisive, that all changed when it came to human food. See, she had a process of choosing human food because she was incredibly picky when it came to food, especially when there were so many things she can choose to eat. But she was pretty happy with what the woman had chose for her, since she always had a love for steak when she was a human and she still loved it now that she was a vampire, just not as much of course.
“So what brings you here to Hogsmeade?” the brunette asked, trying to start a conversation. She knew that the headmistress got out a lot and would go anywhere. She was a very active person, but Kaitlyn was still curious about why she was here. Though, she wouldn’t be surprised though if she just was just out here because she wanted to be. She often found that it was usually the only reason why anyone goes anywhere. That was also the only reason why the brunette went to Hogsmeade. Well, that and the fact that she was getting bored of being stuck with so many stupid, insignificant people inside the castle everyday. She took another drink of her butterbeer as she waited for an answer.

"Haha, well, I try my best." She jested, lining her words with a murmur of humour. "Perhaps I'll have to introduce to some of my own cooking at some point. You can't live.. ah, sorry, you can't exsist having raw meat alone. You may not have an appetite for homemade cooking but I'm sure I can put some variety in your meals. You never know, you might like it." She placed the invitation on the table, hoping the girl would take up the opportunatey. In all their years of discussion, Kaitlyn's meals had never been a topic. It was a wonder really because Addedna was quite the foodie and could go on for hours about cake, icing, sweets, jams, marmalades, jellies, sherberts, pastries, pasties, pies, soups, goulash, steaks, sausages, eggs, omlettes, bacon, bangers, mash, peas, carrots, cabbage, broccoli, potatoes, onions, garlic... um, what were they talking about? Bursting her thought bubble, she realized her stomach was starting to rumble. She always got hungry among company and was forced to eat in front of them like some animal. But it didn't really bother her. Food was far to delicious to worry about what people thought of you. Besides, the polite woman she was - she would always offer some to her companions.
"To Hogsmeade?" she asked, her eyes briefly glancing to the kitchen door and back - as if their meal would already be ready. Closing her eyes and holding her temples for a moment, she attempted to both distract herself and recall why she was there in the first place. "I don't recall.. I stroll I suppose.." Tapping her chin with her finger, she gave the ceiling a look before ultimately giving up on remembering. "I tend to come here when I'm about the place. T'is a lovely atmosphere in here. The smell always makes me think of home, for some reason." As she said this, her scottish accent became sharper - if only for a moment. In general, her accent was very subtle but when she thought of her hometown - it became more prominent.
"How about you?"
