Arianna Hildegard's loud cry was the first noise on that fateful morning when she was discovered on the porch of Combe Orphanage, wrapped up in a tight bundle with a letter clutched in her small, fragile arm. No one peeked their nosy little noses out from their windows in surprise, because that was a common morning scenario around the orphanage Arianna was nothing different from the twenty other kids she was going to live with. Whoever abandoned her showed no signs of wanting the child back, leaving her with only a letter explaining the situation and a locket that held nothing but a picture of the baby herself. Young little Arianna was taken in without hesitation as the newest addition to the house, and there began her childhood.
Young Arianna was nothing but a normal child, except being rather strange in her interests. The little trickster seemed to be drawn towards rather mean-spirited, dangerous pranks and often played it on the other kids for mere fun. It looked as if her signs of magic surfaced rather early, because they couldn't quite tell how she executed some of her pranks without help from adults. After giving up on wondering how did the six year old Arianna managed to set her little traps on the highest shelf, they resorted to punishing her in hope of stopping her mean pranks. Her dangerous humor was finally put to an end a year later on the night of Halloween, when a younger kid was almost severely harmed by Arianna's scary little experiment with fire. No one got hurt from the incident, but it was too close. Shocked and startled by the alarming behavior of the seven year old, they attempted to 'force it out' of her with ultimately harsh method of punishment. Young Arianna was locked up in the basement and not to be let out unless she 'admitted her mistakes and promised to never do it again'.
That did it. The next morning Arianna surrendered, apologized in remorse and made a convincing promise to never repeat her mistakes again. Arianna learned a lesson - what she was inside was not something socially acceptable, and if she was to survive in this unfair world where the human standards were not tolerant of her nature, she would have to change. But stubborn little Arianna was not capable of changes. Frankly, she did not see a reason to correct her actions. Life would be easier - if she wanted to get out of that dark horrible space she was locked up in, she would have to act. Like all kids who tried to lie and get away with their wrongdoings, she chose to lie - and like the very few who had gotten away with it, so did she.
The forgiven child from then was never the same - her rebellious behaviors and mean pranks vanished as if they never happened. Except for the poor kid who was almost scarred for life, everyone was happy to accept her new behavior as genuine remorse and invent new interpretation for her past incidents, clarifying it as unfortunate ideas of fun of a child who had yet to learn about boundaries. Arianna seemed to have adopted a different demeanor in the later years of her childhood since then, quickly becoming the most popular child among the children of orphanage, and according to the adults, Arianna Hildegard was easily the most charming child out of the bunch. Little did they know about her darker nature that was still lingering under the fabricated mask of Arianna for all they knew, her old, alarming ways were officially forgiven and forgotten.
Upon receiving the letter from Hogwarts, Arianna was half surprised - she had known there was something different about her strange self, but she didn't know there was hundreds and thousands of others who were the same inhabiting the seemingly ordinary world they live in. Leaving her history behind, she marched off to the magical world in thrill to learn about her own kind - where she truly belonged.
After reading that little chunk of her history, it would be safe to say that Arianna Hildegard was possibly one of the most socially tactful eleven year old you would come across. In general, she was a very charming person when she needed to be - discreet and sympathetic, the young child learned well enough to know how to put people on ease and hence always coming off as an appealing individual. Having to learn to mask her truest feelings and intentions at young age, Arianna was capable of carrying out various misleading acts in order to achieve her ends, making her manipulative in nature. As an ambitious individual, she was quick in achieving her goals, driven by her maniacally strong desire to attain everything she wanted, and she usually did it alone - independence was something she had adopted after growing up in the orphanage, and the young child lived by the quote of 'survival of the fittest' like no one else.
Her attraction towards dangerous and darker activities was bound to get her into troubles. And due to her strong need of attaining what she desired, Arianna was easily angered when her plans were disrupted or things did not go along the ways she had planned, when she was the most viscous of all time. The young girl actively seeks revenge in her thickly venomous way, and that was when her carefully molded mask of patience began to crumble. Though Arianna was nowhere near evil, her hidden crave of superiority and nature of extremist were bound to make her prone to cruel and ruthless ways if nudged down the wrong path.
She craved superiority and victory - her biggest dream would be her having everything she ever wanted. A successful life, and even though she hated to admit, a family to applaud her glory when she had made it till the very end.
Looks-wise, Arianna was often described as petite and short for her age - whether due to her genes or undernourishment from having to grow up in an orphanage, only time will tell. One would also most likely find Arianna's eyes the feature that stood out the most in her delicately structured face. They were the shade of emerald green, rimmed with thick and lengthy eyelashes that made up for the lacking of glow in her gaze that were often icy and cold. Long, golden tresses hung down few inches below her shoulders in loose curls, usually styled with middle parting. She wore them down all the time, only pulling them up into an occasional bun when it was impractical to do so.
And there you go, an eleven year old Slytherin who was born and predestinied to be part of the Serpents' Den - Arianna Hildegard.

Under the shade of the huge tree sat Arianna Hildegard, whose emerald green eyes seemed to be focused intensely on the books on her lap. Her pale, eerily doll-like face seemed to resemble the icy snow of December under the sunlight that had somehow managed to penetrate and leak through the thick shade of leaves overhead - a striking contrast to the warmth that showered the campus today. Fluttering her fingers gently as she toyed with a few dark strands of her hair, the blonde tilted her head back slightly to allow the rest of her golden tresses tumbling down her back in smooth, glorious waves. Her usual proper, prim attire around the castle, however, seemed to be missing now that she was out of the castle areas and in the grounds alone, where the only possible human hovering in nearby vicinity would be Rubeus Hagrid, the gigantic man who had an odd passion in literally all types of existing magical creatures. A green and silver tie hung loosely around the unbuttoned collar of her white, silk shirt, dripping with rebellion in its roughly tied knot. Under the book on her lap a grey, old skirt fanned out in pleats, looking even more washed out under the sunlight while a pair of flat, battered-looking shoes resting next to her bare feet completed the ordinary ensemble she donned.
Sitting up straighter, her hand reached out to adjust her shirt - the one she had stolen from Mary Hightower just the night before she departed to Hogwarts. Being an orphan meant completely deprivation from materialism and luxury, which were what half of the population of Hogwarts appeared to be growing up with - Arianna needed this. She needed all the help she could get, and Mary would completely understand if she had been in her shoes. Not that she would ever find out, though - poor little ditzy probably thought she misplaced yet another shirt in her dwindling collection of possessions. It was just a shirt, after all. If Arianna even managed to afford buying her own one day, she would repay her with a dozen...perhaps.
The book she carefully balanced on her lap, surprisingly, held nothing academically useful inside. Beautifully colorful illustrations took up the entire page opened on her left as paragraphs of brown font spread over the right one. Tales of the happily ever after danced between the lines of swift, cursive writing while joyous stories of elves were hid within the glorious colors of the animated illustration. Everything of it resembled positivity and light - something the young snake was oddly fascinated by yet unable to relate to, for some reasons unknown to herself. Letting out a sigh of admiration, Arianna smiled quietly to herself as she pulled herself nearer to the book, examining the smiling girl in the picture who in many ways resembled Arianna herself, with the same blonde curls and vivid green eyes. It was a strangely beautiful sight; a young little lady sitting under the tree, her emerald eyes focusing immensely on a book in fascination as her deadly pale complexion glowed and bathed in the pouring sunlight that danced on her shirts and long, ripples of golden waves. Stretching out her arms, she leaned back into her previous position, her back resting on the tree and her eyes closing slowly.
In the perfect state of bliss.
