overall history: tRoxanne Aurora Weasley was born to Angelina and George Weasley on February 11, a girl much to her older brother’s dissatisfaction. In the beginning her childhood was that of any others although her family were known throughout the magical community. Her parents strove to make sure their children enjoyed the simple things in life and she did, often making a mess of her grandmother’s garden. Roxanne always loved being outdoors and was flying a broom before she learned how to walk. Her parents had inherited a nice size estate from their aunt upon her death so they had the fortune of growing up in the country. The house needed a lot of work but her father had the money to do it with his business still going strong after more than ten years. For a time life was perfect, they lived in bliss and then her family was struck by the sudden death of her aunt and uncle the Potters.
It was hard to cope with the loss of someone so close but her family had dealt with it before. Her father often spoke of the twin brother he once had, the uncle her brother was named for, it took a while but eventually the family pulled themselves together. The children did their best to make their cousins feel welcome and when the time came for school everyone was happy to have something else to think about. Roxanne was especially excited having been one of the last of her family to attend Hogwarts, it was very important for her to get into Gryffindor. It was the house of her family and although she acts as if she needs no one all she wants is to belong. It was a relief to hear the name yelled from the sorting hat and to look at her fellow housemates cheering for her as she made her way to a seat. She loved school, there was always something new to learn and someone to meet. It was also kind of annoying for her to have her family at almost every turn and she strove to place her self apart from the humongous Weasley crew.
Her first years were spent getting used to the schedule and trying her best to make sure she met the standards of all her teachers. She did not make good grades the first time around because she was too busy enjoying the company of her friends and quidditch but she did excel in one thing consistently, potions. It was relaxing to her and she continued to improver over the next two years, but it was in her third year that she discovered her love of magical creatures. They fascinated her and she decided then she would try to have a career involving them. It was during Roxanne’s fourth year she decided to try out for the Gryffindor team but didn’t make much to her embarrassment. By this time she maintained a balance of work and play although she never got as many O or E as her mother would have liked. Now as she takes the reins for her fifth year she hopes to do better and make even more friends than the year before.

role play sample:“Are you ready?” Asks my mother a she sits across the table from me in our home my father and brother on either side of her. “As ready as I’ll ever be.” I smiled at them and then looked to the letter that had just arrived from school. Within that envelope were the grades that would determine my life and what kind of job I would be able to get. I wanted to do well, needed to do well I had a plan and I’d worked so hard to make sure everything fell into place. I took a breath and then opened it what met my eyes was better than I had expected. Did I reach the top of his class; no but at least I gained high enough marks to qualify for a much coveted linguist job in Rome. I had always wanted to go to the city but the thought of leaving my family behind was unthinkable. “Success!” I cried out as I gave my mom the papers and took my brother Thomas by the hand and we danced around the room like snooty old men. My mother read over the list to me and then took my brother’s place as my dancing partner.
“I told you all your hard work would do you well in the end,” the pride in her voice made my smile broaden. She placed her hand on my head and ruffled my hair, her signs of affection. “You have made me proud my son and I will see to it you have you fare to Rome.” says my father apparently reading my thoughts. “How did you know?” I ask in complete shock. It was no secret that my aspirations were higher than the shop my grandparents owned. Buy we’d never spoken of what I wanted. “I watch you and I see you capacity for knowledge. I have already spoken to your uncle Julius and they have procured you a place as a linguist.” It was more than I’d hoped for as my first job but this was perfect and put me in a position where I could thrive and I did. Leaving Venice was harder than I thought it would be packing my things seemed like a chore more than preparation for an adventure. Before I knew it the day of my departure was upon me and nothing but sad faces looked back at me from the docks. “Come now don’t be so glum he will be back!” said my father whipping a tear from my mother’s eye while shoving my brother. “There is food in your bag and remember to go straight to your post when you arrive Rome is nothing like Venice.”
I took my leave of them and everything else I knew hoping that this path would take me where I wanted to be. When fist I saw Rome all I could see were the height of the cathedrals and the gleam of the sun off the golden dome. Even at sea she was beautiful but when she docked and I got the chance to explore the city first hand I fell in love. Soon I knew her streets just like they were my own and work was no task at all but a joy. I have a gift with languages and to merely speak them or write them all day is fine with me and the pension was amazing. I had enough money to send gifts for my family on birthdays and buy a woman or two for mine. I worked hard all day and made the bet out of my nights but I longed for home or maybe I was just longing for someone. I had been away from home for five years and I had met no one of marriageable interest to me and there was the fact that I still lived in my master’s house. I had no time for women as all my time went to making sure I was educated in almost every tongue and going to the right partied to make the right friends.
Those years I spent working meticulously were brutal and the most dull time in my life but I am happy to have had them. I knew it was worth it, my last day as a linguist a day I will never forget. I was working late as always candles burning to light my small room when there was a knock on my door. “Come in.” I called without looking up but when I did I saw my master Ricci walk into the room. I stood up dropping the papers that were in my hand. “Relax Zabini I have not come to scold you.” He said with a laugh. Over the years he has been my toughest critic but it is because of him that I have grown so. “Well you never come out your room this late unless it is urgent.”
“It is.” He smiles at me as a million thoughts go through my mind as to what I could have done. “You have been a great apprentice but I fear it is time for you to leave us and become ambassador for Naples.” I smiled and he did too I could not believe I was moving up after so little time. “When did you know?” I asked wondering as he has never come to my room so late before. “I found out earlier while you were out at the forum. I’m happy for you.” I was happy to it was my first taste of success and I wanted more. I was moving up and it seemed there was no other place to go.
