* I'VE BEEN LOCKED INSIDE YOUR
HEART-SHAPED BOX FOR WEEKS !
(i'vebeendrawnintoyourmagnettarpittrap)
This was ridiculous. This was completely and utterly ridiculous. Though, she wasn't quite sure which was more ridiculous at the moment. The valentine’s ball or how she looked in her stupid ball gown. Actually, no that wasn't quite true. She was pretty sure that both were equally ridiculous. Or maybe she was slightly more ridiculous at the moment. The girl sighed. There was no point in figuring out what was more ridiculous, but it was there only keeping her entertained at the stupid valentine’s ball. This had been a bad idea from the start. Her own complaining had gotten her here, oh dear Kaitlyn needed to learn to keep her mouth shut. She should know that the ideas of the people she calls siblings, these fun things she’s suppose to enjoy, she won’t enjoy them at all. Like going to the valentine’s ball because she was told that it would be fun. She would’ve been better off staying in the Slytherin common room, sitting around reading books instead of letting them drag her around.
She should’ve expected it really, when her brother threw her a box and told her to get dressed and come outside when she was done. She should’ve protested and yelled and screamed and create a scene or something, but of course she didn’t. Instead she just glared at him and did what he told her to. She should’ve known better, but Kaitlyn just never learned. After she had gotten dress, there were several more occasions where the girl could’ve protested or refused to go. But being the incredibly smart person she is, she didn’t until they reached the Great Hall. By then though, it was too late, but of course that didn’t stop her from doing so. It was then that her brother struck a deal with her. If she stayed at the ball until he left, he would be her servant for the whole month, but if left the ball before he did she would be his servant. She should’ve said no. She should’ve just gone back to the common room. But she didn’t. She just kept on making the same mistakes over and over again. She said yes, when what she should’ve done was say no and leave. But the brunette had never been the type of person to turn down a bet. Especially when the end result could mean that she would have a servant who did whatever she wanted.
So here she was, standing against the wall, sighing. Her brother smirked at her and she glared at him. Why couldn’t he leave her alone? She was miserable (though she certainly didn’t look like it with that big fake smile on her face), bored, and looked absolutely ridiculous in her ball gown while he was dancing and laughing and socializing. She could be having such a great time right now. Kaitlyn looked around, her blue eyes taking everything in. It seemed as if everyone else was enjoying themselves. Her clear blue eyes scanning the crowd, trying to see if any of her other siblings were at this god forsaken ball. She couldn’t see them. The brunette ran a hand through her messy locks. Oh, how she was regretting agreeing to the deal.
With another sigh, she made her way towards the tables along the side. She looked at the drink there and grabbed a red one. Red was her favorite color, and she had knew that there was not going to be any alcohol, so what did it matter which cup she chose. After a few more minutes of staring at the dancing couples, the brunette took another cup, and began wondering why there was even a valentines day. Kaitlyn didn’t see the point having a day dedicated to love. If you were going to dedicate a day to a certain feeling, shouldn’t you dedicate a day to all feelings? When she realized how ridiculous her thoughts where, she shook her head and sighed again. She was sighing awfully lot tonight. She blamed it on the dance, just as she did with those stupid things she was thinking about. Hopefully someone would take her out of her misery.
