Dominique had woken up late today, she’d had to skip breakfast rush to have a shower and only to find herself halfway through her first lesson wearing the wrong thing all together… the wrong skirt, wrong jacket, wrong shoes, wrong shirt but at least she had the right tie on. Since then on she’d been rather embarrassed with how stupid she was and still too tired to focus on her studies for the morning. Though she loved sleeping and especially sleeping in on such days like this it was never a good thing as she had so much to do in a school day it was crazy how little time they never really had to themselves in a day.
It was during her last class before lunch that her stomach started to rumble and carry on for the hour which had her holding her gut for most of the lesson before hurrying out of the class. She knew she had to eat, she could already feel her own body growing weaker and head going light as she shook her head and jumped on the staircase hurrying down the steps seeming to have a small bounce in her steps, honestly though she wanted to eat something before the shakes started and she passed out, it had happened a few times and she didn’t want that to happen again. Naturally she bumped into a few people and yawned before she walked through those massive doors and looked around.
She could not see her sister nor brother but she did see her friend, an odd one indeed, many people never thought these two would be friends no doubt, she saw some of the looks, she heard what her family said but who cared. She waved her hand but Scorpius was not looking so she hurried over to him and sat down across from him even if it was at the Slytherin table, pft like such things mattered to her. “Hello Scorpius”
she said putting her things down beside her and smiled to him, she always made the effort to look him in the eye when she spoke to him or use another form of language around him such as writing things down which she often found to be more secretive and amusing as she took some of the juice from her goblet and starter to fill her plate up as her stomach grumbled again and she made a small face picking her fork up and took a mouthful of food, already her taste buds kicking in as she smiled, gosh she loved eating food. the outfitooc ;; sorry I always suck at first posts [/blockquote][/blockquote]

Mornings were a matter of routine for the deaf boy. It had to be, which was something you picked up rather quickly; better to ensure you had a set time in which to do everything so that you did not find yourself in the way of irritating people acting like zombies who were much less likely to offer up a physical warning beyond actually walking into you than usual. Each morning was the same; he'd wake from the alarm charm cast on his pillow, shower, dress and then return to the dorm before any of the other boys had even crawled back into consciousness. He'd spend the time while they actually were dragging themselves out of bed ensuring his bag was ready for the day - with all books, equipment and homework due in for the upcoming lessons... and then he'd be one of the first to make his way out of the dark (and rather cold) twisting chambers of the Slytherin common room and dorms, and into the Great Hall for breakfast.
Arriving early had many good points. There were few people around, which equated to less staring; there was a greater choice of food, which was always handy in the mornings, and the warming charms on the coffee and tea hadn't been in place for as long as they could have been, overally reducing the levels of unwelcome toxins he would be introducing to his body. And then, when he was sat at the Slytherin table, in his seat which faced onto the rest of the Great Hall (to avoid any unwelcome surprises), Scorpius would be able to simply watch as the rest of the student body drifted in in various states of dress and consciousness. It was always during this time of the day that the sequence of events changed somewhat. Occasionally he'd sit amongst green and silver stripes, the seats around him empty until one of his few friends chose to finally turn up, and other times... other times there would be a flash of yellow and black heading through the students in his direction, which would then solidify into the form of a Hufflepuff girl from his own year, who would break all of the social rules of the houses to sit with him. He always smiled on those mornings.
This morning was one of them, and while Scorpius was never exactly unpleasant in the mornings (once he had some tea in his hands, at least), any trace that he might have been was discarded completely as the greeting of his best friend was bestowed upon him - her lips moving in the words he couldn't hear but the words he was certainly able to read. He hadn't seen her initially, admittedly. This morning had also differed from quite a few others in that he had taken a book out to prop up against the marmalade jar to read as he had waited, and it was those words which had distracted him from his usual session of morning people watching. When he did see her, however, a smile flickered over his lips as he watched Dominique sit, offering up an elegant wave of his left hand in greeting. He enjoyed conversing with Dominique, and not only because she was, individually, a very interesting person. The ability to converse with another in sign language was something he treasured, after all. He sat up slightly straighter, bringing both hands before him to offer up the sign of; "Aren't you looking bright and happy this morning."

Dominique was not in the mood really today to care what others thought of her sitting at the Slytherin table when she was a Hufflepuff, her friend was here and she was going to join him because let’s face it she was starving and her stomach was growling like a hungry bear did when it was closing in on its prey ready to strike and dig in and that’s what she was going to do with her food, dig in as a Weasley did with food. She gave Scorpius a smile and picked up her fork taking some food and enjoyed the taste of it in her mouth, already her stomach calming down with the simple delight of a single bite. Yep after this meal she’d be full for a few hours no doubt about it.
After swallowing Dominique smiled and laughed a little “Only for you Scorpius”
she signalled back. She liked improving her sign language skills and her family said she’d no doubt never use it and had no need for it but well, they were wrong now weren’t they. “I’m just waiting for a professor to come shout at me for wearing the wrong thing” she added making a small face and small roll of her eyes as she finished off the juice in her goblet and grabbed the jug not too far off filling her goblet up again offering Scorpius some also as it’d be rude not to and it was something she was used to doing often offering her friends things. At home it was a natural thing to do though you passed things around the table and just refilled the person across and next to you glass up so it was a habit that had followed Dominique with her to school. “What have you been doing this morning?” she signed to him after putting the jug back down again and took another mouthful of food wondering what her friend had been up to today, if he’d done anything exciting or something boring and dull that would send anyone off to sleep or putting headphones on so they didn’t have to deal with the boring task. Of course she hoped no one had messed around with him though it was hard when his father was the Potions teacher, ah she hated that subject. Of course she loved mixing things together and blowing stuff up in class or better yet actually getting the potion right but she hated that it was Draco Malfoy who taught the class and not someone else, someone cooler and more laid back and not all… well like Draco Malfoy was. the outfitooc ;; sorry this has taken ages to reply, my internet keeps cutting out on me [/blockquote][/blockquote]
