A ball, how lovely. Normally Dominique would be thrilled she would finally be able to do some ball room dancing, see people in lovely gowns, men dressed in fancy suites and everyone laughing and having a great time. In some ways its one reason she wished her future would be rich either by her own means which was the preferred choice or by her husband, that way she could attend such fancy parties all the time. Though it was not just the people that excited her about ball’s it was the music that was played, the decorations of the room and gardens, the drinks served and the small nibbles that people could enjoy, it was the light conversations and the laughter that all excited her. However, this particular type of ball was not her favourite one to say the least it was to celebrate Valentine’s Day and she had no valentines, not that she ever had. Oh don’t get her wrong Dominique had her share of admirers over the years, why she’d been getting cards all day and roses and lily’s and chocolates and candy and yet she did not have someone ‘special’ to share this day with. Kind of put a damper on the day all together. After spending who knew how long on her hair alone she only added light makeup to her face, put on her favourite ring and checked herself in the mirror before she left the Hufflepuff common room, great thing about being in that common room it was not too far from the kitchen nor the Great Hall so she did not have far to walk but she did not mind if she had to walk further she loved her heeled shoes and fancy dress and the ability to make people stop to look at her. How the portraits complimented her which made her smile, it let her know her hard work had paid off which was always nice. Her mother had sent her the blue gown in which she wore tonight along with the shoes her mother had once owned and the golden butterfly clip with blue glass for its wings that held the loos bits of her bangs back as she’d wound them a little to add a bit of spring to her already curled hair which seemed to bounce and dance around with every step she took. The Great Hall was no disappointment as it was decorated in such beauty it made her smile as she walked into it. Some people were already dancing, others sitting around, some leaving… oh yea she knew what they were off to do, no surprise there. Dominique simply walked over to a table and picked up a champagne glass though she knew it was not really alcohol but it seemed to sparkle and had bubbles in it as she took a sip and let the fruity taste tickle her taste buds and senses before she smiled and sat down, now either she would wait for someone to come ask her for a dance, she’d get bored and go dance anyway or she’d have to ask someone for a dance, though what lady should have to ask someone for a dance really. the outfitooc ;; all are welcome
