It was half past one in the afternoon and Harley Ferraro was just getting back to her classroom from the Great Hall. She had a two o'clock class with the sixth years and needed a few minutes to set up a few things around the classrooms. She went over the the small ice cauldron and picked it up, swaddling it in her right arm. Inside were about three dozen eggs.
One might think eggs have nothing to do with Divination, but Ovomancy is a branch of the subject. It is a relatively new branch, being discovered by a group of Ravenclaws in the mid-ninties, but it wasn't officially taught in Hogwarts until today. Harley wanted to see if any of her students had a knack for it, to see if anyone could read into the way the yolks fell.
She walked up to her desk and easily put down the cauldron and pulled a thing of mugs towards her. In each, she gently placed two eggs so the students can have two shots at the new subject. As she got all of the cups filled, she picked up four cups in each hand and walked quickly to the closest table, putting two cups on it. She then did the similar action with the next three tables until she had no more cups in her hands.
"This is going to be a bit... different." she had said to herself, snickering and looking up at her clock. She had noticed there was twenty or so more minutes left before her sixth year class started. She rushed over to the window near her desk and opened it up, sticking the top half of her body out. "SIXTH YEARS, ALL SIXTH YEARS. PLEASE HURRY TO YOUR NEXT CLASS. IT IS YOUR DIVINATION CLASS. I DON'T WANT TO HAVE ANYONE MISS OUT AGAIN. AND DON'T MESS WITH THE STUFF ON YOUR DESK UNTIL I SAY SO." Yes, she always had a habit of shouting out for her students to come to class, regardless of how much time was left before the class started. She felt it was productive enough, but then again, maybe the students were responsible enough to not skip the class.
She brought herself back into the classroom and shut the window. She went back to the front of her desk to fill her arms with the last ten cups of eggs. She slowly walked to the rest of the tables, placing two on each of the remaining empty tables.
